The 2-wire functionality is what really intrigues me about his unit as my end goal is to have a battery backup system (Ecoflow, Anker, Pecron or EG4) that can be charged via the generator in an extended power outage situation. The 2-wire can be connected to the system to automatically start the generator when the batteries get drained to a certain point. I sent my ideas on this setup to Genmax and one of the engineers sent me an email with info on this unit. Seems to be ahead of some of the other manufacturers but guessing others will be bringing this to the table with upcoming units.

The main advantage is the "clean" power provided by the inverter. Steady power that will not damage some of the modern electronics out there. Traditional (non-inverter) generators are considered to have "dirty" power and could damage electronics. There is plenty of info on this on the internet. If you are going to use a traditional generator, an addition of something like the EG4 Chargeverter is a great product to use. Basically, it cleans up the power supply for you.
The Chargeverter is about $500, so yes, it would still be cheaper to add the Chargeverter to the Firman... it's up to you if you want to go through all the extra connections.
If noise is a big concern, the current GM11000iETC deal at Sam's Club is a great option. I'm debating between the open-frame GM10500XiT and the one at Sam's now for myself as I live in a neighborhood.

If I had space for this I'd be convincing the GF we need to spend the $. Keep in mind the derate for LP and NG as well as tank/piping sizes. It recommends 20LB LP but that will NOT support the genny at full load, especially in cold weather. (look up LP vaporization rates if you're curious) So if this is a winter backup for you, expect to need 100# or more of LP tanks to run at full load for any significant time. Similar for NG - a half inch 'grill line' at the end of a long pipe is likely to starve the genny and now allow full power. Note: these are just physical limitations and not anything wrong with the actual generator.
Just googled Chargerverter - they only charges batteries. You still need a battery bank and inverter to output clean 120/240 AC so cost-wise it's much more expensive. If you're looking for a standby solution that's primarily battery/solar with genny backup to that it's a good solution and avoids anything but the chargerverter seeing the dirty power. Presumably it's built to handle that so won't suffer.
