"previous lightning cable version" is referring to the same AirPods Pro 2 (2nd gen) but with original case that only takes lightening cable. MagSafe was added to Pro 2 at a later time. I believe there was no change to the airpods itself.

vs AirPod Pro 1 (1st gen), sure, Pro 2 sounds better, and better ANC as well.

Check your local best by for open box pricing. I was able to snag an open box excellent pair for $116 was missing the box and the MD silicone tips but was other wise brand new. Can't beat that with a stick.

Weird question but has anyone tried to return Airpods purchased from Amazon? I get an error about removing an activation lock before I can return them but all I've done is tried connect them once to my iPod. I didn't link them to an iCloud account or pair them with an iPhone. Super weird.

I wouldn't buy a returned AirPod; way too many fakes and they are pretty hard to tell them apart until they stop working
