Amd cards are the only available high end cards available. Even last gen 4070ti and up are all sold out near me and online

I snagged a Gigabyte 4070 Super on New Egg a few weeks ago for around $600. They definitely get stock in but it sells out within an hour or two.

Hardware Unboxed just did a very informative video where they said the 7900 XTX would need to be around $700 to be a good value.

That said, $650 for a 7900 XT is extremely "okay" at best. If it's what you want anyway, then go for it. But please don't let yourself be fooled into thinking that this is a *great* deal because it isn't.

Just like 5070 does NOT equal 4090, and 5080 is really a "5070" and 5070 is really a "5060."

Don't let AMD/nGreedia pull the wool over your eyes. (Too many people have done that in recent years, which is why the gpu market is what it is.)

On everything I have read, the 9700 xt is not much faster than what you have. At least not enough to call it an upgrade. Maybe someone who has had both cards can chime in, but I would save your money. The GRE is a great card.

9070 XT is "supposed" to be around a 4080. Faster than the GRE and XT but not enough to upgrade from.

Are you sure you mean XTX at $700? I've heard that said of the 7900XT, that $700 would be good value. The 7900XTX competes at 4080 super level. $700 would be a steal.

Yes. The XTX. I highly recommend that HU video. They were discussing it at the end of a video about the 5080.
