I bought this and it gave me a promo code under which it said "Your codes must be redeemed within 30 days"

Use the alternating technique. Year 1 you be the primary and your partner the secondary. Year 2 switch , your partner be the primary and you secondary. This way you can always get new member promos. I have been using a Free or fully rebated membership (one year even a money maker) for past 5 years now.

I was keeping them for the gas discount too, but decided to stop. They are the same discount as Costco, but Costco is on the opposite side of town off by itself, and I go closer to BJs regularly. The problem is, their gas station is a cluster. It's regularly a 10 minute wait to get to a pump. They don't have good traffic control on the pumps, so people are rushing from two entries to try and get in line behind cars. The line to even get into the gas station is often backed out into the road, which makes trying to get in to BJs to purchase something impossible/dangerous. It's by far, the worst layout I've seen for a gas station. Compare that to the Costco/Sams where even if there is a line, it is controlled and flows smoothly/quickly and is out of the way of the store. If I can get a membership for $20, I might be able to justify it, but they've really pissed me off.

Agreed. They're not spending money on efficient designers. All of the BJs Gas in my area very poorly designed and laid out backwards.

Then add in the people who are special and pull in the wrong way because they're too important to wait for the pump on the side their gas tank is on or use the extra long hoses to reach the other side.

To the people that are current members and want to renew this deal won't apply to you it only new members . Mine expired Jan 31 . I read in this thread someone saying they got a coupon in mail after not renewing for 10 and 20$ renew membership. I contacted bjs chat mentioned my neighbor got a 10$ renew coupon I would like similar . They said we can't do 10$ but we have a 25$ renew special . I bought it. It's not as good as this deal but it's a lot better than 60$ renew.
