Wow that sounds like a crappy lens. At least my Sigma 18-35 is a constant 1.8. What is the point of this lens? At best using the 24 end for landscape but a 50@ 6.3???? Cool depth of field for a classic street FOV

The only real advantage of this lens is that it's very compact. I believe it was the kit lens for the Z5 so it's pretty cheap slightly used/out of kit, but this is a pretty good price brand new. If it was me I'd scrimp and save for a pulled from kit 24-70 f4 though. They sell for 400 or less in mint condition generally. The 4-6.3 isn't the end of the world with Z cameras other than lack of ability to isolate your subject if you want to be super artsy, but these days you can still do that with apps after the fact that are pretty darn good.

how much was your sigma genius? How much does it weigh? How big is it? It's all about trade-offs, this is obviously a compact kit lens for beginners, hence the $200 sale price.

It doesn't weigh a ton like your Sigma.
