Consumer Reports gives it 80/100 with excellent function/performance scores stating "This model had No performance flaws Noted." It's only brought down by expected reliability and satisfaction (likely due to a few bad years of Samsung appliances). It's definitely worth buying at this price IMHO.
If you register, you'll get a free extra year warranty too.

Induction ranges are efficient and cook rapidly. I recommend that people watch youtube videos that demonstrate induction cooking.
If I cooked more often than I do, I'd buy this range.
I used to sell appliances and Samsung wasn't my favorite brand. But this is a good price for a slide-in Induction.

If you don't have pots and pans that are made from a ferrous metal (Magnet will stick to it) you will need to purchase those. Copper, aluminum will NOT cook on this top.

It's only $100 more at costco
https://www.costco.com/samsung-6....less+steel

Buying from costco includes 2-year warranty, free delivery, installation, haul away of old appliance.

Could well be worth the $100 difference for many.

This is a great induction stove but major caveat - don't buy if it's your only stove unless you can afford to be out of a stove for months. I got a very similar floor model and I've had it for a year. Being a floor model it had a problem with the hot surface LEDs which best buy was able to fix in a month's time. What I learned when they took it apart is this thing is crazy complicated and the induction actually floats beneath the glass and can actually become "off-center" which is what caused my problem. I also learned that if you're lucky they have parts on hand but they can take weeks to order. 10mo later I had a saltwater pot overboil and shutoff the stove. It's designed to turn off if it sense water on the top. But if it overflows the top it can run down the side and back panel and short out the power circuit board which has absolutely no protection from water intrusion. Then what I learned is that if your unit fails within 15 days Best Buy will come out themselves, but after that you get Samsung coverage for a year EVEN if you bought the Geek Squad extended coverage. Luckily Samsung's local repair guys came out and replaced the boards within 2 weeks BUT then it turned out there's still a problem with the front display circuit board and it's been TWO FULL MONTHS and I still haven't heard back from them even after numerous calls. So if it's a basement stove like mine then it's great. Otherwise I'd never use one for my main stove. I'm sticking with reliable and simple gas for that. BTW, I love it for the induction boiling - nothing like it and good control but obviously you can still boilover.

The appliances aren't what they use to be. I have Frigidaire flat top. Cheap stainless cover,..scratched up the 1st week and dents easily. Whirlpool fridge replaced ice maker, main computer, kitchen aid dishwasher already replaced the pump. Low profile whirlpool over the range microwave... terrible. Take 2plus minutes to heat water. All these appliance under 5years old.....

Is it Induction charging? Does it need 220 volts or 110 volts?
Big heating appliances like stoves, ovens and dryers need 220V. You can't get hot enough with 110V. Their 4200-Watt Ultra Express Boil feature, for example, would need 38 amps at 110V but most household wiring can only handle 20 amps. Anything above that should blow the fuse or circuit breaker. Otherwise, you'll likely have a fire. But if you supply it 220V, then you'll only need half the amps, 18, to achieve the 4200 watts. And 18 amps is certainly below the 20 amp limit.

The basic formula is: Watts = Volts x Amps. The lower the Voltage, the higher the Amps needed to achieve your target Wattage, and vice versa.

I think most 110V versions have a battery that provides the added power. At least the ones I know of.

I think we all understand that it's a great unit when it works. If anyone here has had a Samsung appliance not fail on them within the first 5 years, please chime in.
We have a Samsung front load washer/dryer that we have had for 10 years and they are still going strong. We also have a Samsung refrigerator we haven't had any issues. We have friends that have had a Samsung fridge for at least 10 years without issue.
Kind of leery about this since the top doesn't have a lip to catch liquids.

Funny you should say that. I saw these a few week ago on a tech blog. They run off a 120v 15amp outlet so I guess there is a use case but they are crazy expensive. https://copperhome.com/products/charlie
This one: https://www.impulselabs.com/product goes one level better. Hard to believe, but it offers temperature control that's accurate to one degree.

Their are hybrid cooktops that have both induction and gas burners on them. But those would be 220 and gas.

yeah, you aren't going to find a fullsize induction range that works for you if you don't have a 220v hookup.

EDIT: unless you buy one those bizarre custom-made ones with a battery built in, but those are $6000 and i think they're made for cosplaying "trad wives" who want a modern oven in their old farmhouse and have money to burn

LG/Frigidaire earn top marks from Consumer Reports. Even IKEA has a recommended model there. Samsung doesn't have any tested induction ranges, but in a smooth top models they also score well.
The Ikea induction range is made by Frigidaire btw

Same here. I have Samsung dryer and washer for more than 15 years and still running strong. I now have Samsung refrigerator for more than 2 year and still has no problem. But my Samsung dish washer die after 1 and 1/2 years old.

Dangit! Tempted! KNOBS!!!

I got the Frigidaire Gallery induction back in July '23 for $1,331, model FGIH3047VF. Love it except for two things.

1) Control pad can kiss my arse. Such a pita trying to adjust temp on the fly.

2) User error and the range glass cracked Frown I think one of us put a hot pasta pot lid onto the glass and the suction it introduced was too much and it cracked the glass Frown Lesson learned not to do that again. Replacement glass is something silly like $400+

Hmm, $1k and get a 'fixed' induction with knobby knobs, but it doesn't match up with the matching FG microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. Hmm, wonder if my OCD can chill the f out. I'm an old fart and reluctant to go to even more 'smart' devices, but I gotta say, it'd be pretty awesome to be able to start the preheat of the oven on my commute home so it'd save me a good 10-15+ minutes. (or I could just be really smart and get a small 120v counter top oven toaster).

What are your thoughts on Frigidaire induction stove. Been watching one directly from them go from 1k to 800 and back up. Currently waiting for it to drop again.
It wasn't a bad brand. (Middle of the road I guess) They had "okay" appliances. Fridges, D.W., stoves. Last time I checked Fridigidaire was still owned by Electrolux(Swedish company now) and they have good quality- control in their manufacturing.
My favorite brands were GE (But I think Haier bought G.E. Appliance division). Whirlpool made products (Kitchenaid, Maytag) I own an LG double oven smooth-top (Standard burners) and it's been good for about 7 years so far.
