It appears to be an old model. I guess they're trying to get rid of stock. 200 lumens with 3 D cells is not very good. There is an Ozark lantern that is 500 lumens and uses 3 AA batteries for $9.97 in stock now.

You're probably talking about this one [walmart.com], also rated at IPX4 but the OP that runs on D's do not say anything about water resistance. I bet it'd work great with my new rechargeable lithium AAs..

Seems to me what u need to consider is run time the whole idea of flashlight is to have it running when u need as in a power outage , a couple hour extra run time is important to me.

You can buy D-Cell battery spacers to use AA rechargeable ones for quick trips or for easy access
