Phone will Unlock automatically 60 days after activation date. Must be activated to unlock. No need to continue service after first month. It still will unlock,

I guess you are so wound up for some reason you are missing the detail. This is for existing customer, check it again.
Total wireless is the better deal now, esp with unlocking

Does anyone know if I can just switch to a lower tier plan after one month and stay on Total without any issues?
Heads up—if you want to move to a less expensive rate plan during the next 6 months after getting this deal, you'll need to pay $50 to change plans.
It's a crap deal with a year until unlock unless you're just going to trade it for a gift card or another phone.
Edit: I finally got a code to GV, hours later. Trying again and will just leave the window open. Finally got an order to go through using the GV number, but it was an exercise in patience.

If I port my real number and pay for the first month, but I don't pay for the second month, what happens during the second month to my number? Do I risk losing the number? Can I make or receive any calls?
