Deal HistoryÂ
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
Not bad! Almost as good as the Hisense U7N for $200 less than its best price.
Better than the Q691G and the Hisense QD7 that are $100 less. (though the 691G clearance deal for $400 at Costco last Fall was a better bang for the buck deal.) But it's great to see prices coming down on some of the better TVs.
By next Fall, 120-144Hz 75" tvs should drop below the $500 price point, if the tariffs don't drive prices back up too much by then... Otherwise, this may be our best sweet spot for a while.
Been in the market for a new TV, and probably went down the Rtings rabbit hole too far, and disqualified too many TVs based off their "inadequate" viewing angle comments.
Finally got a chance to go to the store to see these TVs in person, and almost all of them were fine. You'd have to be looking at them from almost a 70 degree angle for the average person to notice any degradation.

I'm surprised at the Sports rating. I thought the Super Bowl looked excellent last night. As does hockey on ESPN+.
I think they put a high value on the viewing angles of TVs which doesnt really impact me so I always take their scores as a basis to compare than an absolute.

I would think what we are starting to see is clearance pricing on the 2024 models

I think they are trying to make people aware
Even before all the " wide viewing technology" that some LCDs have, everyone knew you were giving up some viewing angle on an LCD TV versus plasma or OLED
However, it seems that the Chinese panels take this to an extreme over what was considered " average " or normal"
I have had many older LCDs in the past and thought I knew what to expect
However, after buying the Hisense U8H, I was amazed at just how narrow the " sweet spot" is when viewing the TV

Yep... that's because Rtings weighs Reflection Handling and Viewing Angle much too heavily in their TV Shows and Sports ratings.

I've had this in my Best Buy shopping cart at this price for probably close to 3 weeks now. In the market for a TV, price seems good, ratings seem pretty good but for some reason still not motivated enough to hit 'Checkout'. Good to see others here like this tv, might bite now.

Yeah it's almost a joke imo. I have the next one down, a Q6 and the viewing angles are totally fine off center by a large margin. I feel like in practice the only people who notice or would care are those who consume media just to demo what they have. Like, only watching a movie to see how Atmos sounds, or watches a dark film just to test black levels and see if they can discover irregularities in their fald. They will be consumed in admiring or looking for flaws in the equipment and will constantly be tweaking settings.

I've been using this tv since the first week of November. Gaming on it is glorious and HDR content looks amazing!
I watched the Super Bowl for a few minutes last night it looked great!

You mean the people who go to a site called rtings.com whose sole purpose is to give detailed ratings of every single tiny minutiae of products so that they can make informed decisions on what to buy? Are we really complaining and calling it ridiculous that rtings.com is giving detailed ratings?!? It's kind of in the name.
Isn't the whole point to let us know exactly what differences there are between a $3000 tv, a $1000 tv, a $500 tv and trash, and to decide between the different models in each level, based on our own preferences? if they gave everything a 9+ in everything, what would be the difference between a $3000 tv and a $300 one?
We're talking about a $1500 MSRP tv that got a 7.9 mixed usage rating, and a 7.4 for sports.
If all we wanted to know is know if if the tv worked, pretty much all of them would get a "pass" rating. It's not like they don't give us literally hundreds of criteria in minute details in numbers, graphs, ratings and descriptions to help us decide for ourselves exactly which factors are most important to us to make our own decisions.

I had a hisense 75 U7 when it first launched that had an extremely bad viewing angle- like if you moved any direction from the dead center, the screen looked like it had a privacy screen protector installed.
I just dealt with it, assuming the panel sucked, went into a store and saw my same TV - didn't have that issue. Turns out I just had a bad one.

I own a Hisense U8H and the viewing angle is just bad...Its a VA panel and perhaps the Hisense models with other panels (ADS etc) are better
There is nothing wrong with my Hisense....all their TV's with VA panels have very poor viewing angles

So in a nutshell...you mean the people that check for every detail and buy the higher end products
