Seems like a pretty good deal to me I don't know if the jump from 1440 to 4K is worth it but the jump from 1080 to 1440 is definitely noticeable to me whether it's production or it's gaming

Is it a good deal? I am a first time monitor user. I always prefer to use a laptop but my workplace recently started offering one day/week work from home. I work as a Design Engineer and not sure which one I should buy. Will this a good option If I want to connect my laptop to the monitor through HDMI for 3D and 2D designing work?
Thanks!

This is a gaming oriented monitor and if you're not gaming then you'll end up paying for features that you won't use. You can get a 27" for around $100 that will be just fine for production work. If you want a 4k monitor and don't care about gaming then consider this deal which is only slightly more:

This is the $150 MSI at Costco? I believe the MSI is model "G274QPF", looks like similar specs but I'm curious which has better contrast levels.

LG Tax normal price for 1440P IPS

Lenovo had one for $144 2 weeks ago or $115 if bought from Bedbathbeyond with the 20% off promo code.

This Alienware for $180 is a better buy, imo.

I've had this monitor for a year, very happy with it. If I didn't have one already I would bite. I downloaded the color profile linked in the rtings article and did notice a positive difference.
I use a zephyrus G14, RTX 2060 and a Dell USBC "dock" DA310. (With that Zeph, the 2060 was connected to the USBC display port, so this dock allows the monitor to be using the 2060 directly. )

For me 27" seemed small for 4k, 1440 is perfect for productivity and for what I my laptop can game at.
