Crazy how this unit holds its value. Bought a year and half ago for $170 ob from Bestbuy.

At this point, the Chromebook is simply too slow at this price.

Show me a better screen for watching movies then this one for a better price.
p.s. I got the 4GB version with 128GB for $87 on cyber Monday.

I wouldn't completely disagree. However, those best-served by this device are (gladly) paying a premium for the OLED screen.

For proper productivity this CPU and RAM combination is functional, but far from a value at this price. However, the OLED screen makes this a killer media consumption device with almost nothing else competing with the screen experience at this price point.

Good luck!

Wow, that's the same price I paid for the IPS Duet 3 Big Grin now I wanna return it. I'm an OLED fanatic but the glossy IPS on the Duet 3 makes me forget I'm using an IPS. I got it for the streamlined detachable form factor to get an upgraded experience compared to me being lazy in the most comfortable couch on my phone. Light enough such that I can get cozy in any position just like my phone, and the keyboard is the perfect size and weight and yet solidly integrates with the tab without adding noticeable weight compared to third party case+keyboards that need the case. You can do anything if you remote to a work computer. Now if it were also OLED at the same price even at 4GB RAM....

I bought 3 of these last year from Best Buy (1 from online and 2 from 2 different stores...) all 3 defective for different reasons- either wouldn't turn on, wouldn't charge or wouldn't hold a charge (yes I was using the Lenovo charger out of box and I know the outlet works!). I love the idea of this model but I am certainly not wasting my time again.

I had high hopes when I picked this up, especially with the OLED screen. But it's honestly just too slow. Just browsing the web bogs it down and you're stuck waiting for pages to load, and it also does this weird color shift when watching videos. You're much better off getting one of the older Chromebooks with an i3 or i5 processor and a 2 or 4k screen like the ACER Chromebook spin 713. Also there are several new Chromebook plus gaming laptops with a 2k screen that can be had for under $300 on ebay.

Are you streaming from Netflix or Disney or Prime Video? Or do you use Chrome? Also, I completely agree with you about the speed of this thing... you need to baby it to make it function. I use a app called "killapps" and I find it helps greatly.
I really have to baby it because I have the 4GB version. Also keep chrome up to date! And try to limit your tabs on Chrome.
I have only experienced this device for about one month. I find it is extra slow starting up... but then it is fine.
BUT BOTTOM LINE, THIS THING IS SLOW!!! How slow you say....
Put it this way... a CHEAP Chinese Tablet has the SnapDragon 6 Gen 1 WHICH IS FASTER then this tablet!!! And it sells for $130ish on aliexpress... alldocube's "iplay60 mini turbo". Now that price of $130ish is the regular price not the sale price and it is FASTER then this Lenovo. I have both tablets and highly recommend BOTH. But it is hard to justify the Lenovo tablet at this price point. My Duet 5 (4GB / 128GB) cost $87 and was a certified refurbished.

Lastly, with the app Kiwi Browser you get open source FULL CHROME on your android tablet. You can then go to the Chrome Store and download ublock origin extension and add any other chrome extension to the Kiwi app. Since Kiwi, I have a hard to justify buying a Chrome Book.

I mainly use mine as a tablet for music with Mobile Sheets. Great OLED screen for reading music clearly.

Dang. That's crazy that you got 3 lemons in a row. I wouldn't waste my time again either if that had been my experience. I got my open box: excellent 8GB variant from Best Buy around this price just over a year ago and it came like new. If the box didn't have tape on it to communicate it was an open box item, I wouldn't have been able to differentiate it from a brand new product.

Interesting. If possible, would you mind sharing some links to the recommended models you have tried? I appreciate the feedback!

I really do enjoy this device though I never really expected to use it as a dedicated productivity machine. I had the Lenovo Duet 3 8GB model previously and it had a terrible battery drain issue that would completely kill the battery overnight just sitting, unused when it wasn't connected to the keyboard. I couldn't find any of those issues online with the Duet 5 model and rolled the dice on one of these open box: excellent Best Buy sales. Personally, I love it and use it way more than I would have guessed but pretty much only for media consumption. In fact, I can't remember the last time I actually used the keyboard. Unfortunately, the biggest weak point of this device has to be the underpowered speakers. They are laughably underutilized to the point that my cell phone is louder when watching content which is pretty sad. I found a way around this by downloading a free volume booster app that allows you to override Lenovo's default setting. Setting this thing to ~120% volume is a massive improvement in usability and doesn't distort whatsoever. I haven't pushed the speakers much higher than that but, of course, any speaker will begin to crackle and distort if you continuously push them beyond their design. That extra little boost still gives perfectly clean sound and I'm not worried about driving them a little harder with how low they are set up by default.

I can see how folks looking for a true two-in-one device would be disappointed. It just won't be as fast as a Samsung Tab S Ultra but as far as a general, light use or highly portable media device with excellent battery life, this device really does tick a lot of boxes. I would never pay MSRP but if you wanted to try one out, this is an excellent price for use around the parameters I've outlined

Not really saying much considering there has never been a US President named, "ronal" LOL
