Ditto. The workaround is.....go into payments and "transfer" balance of one gift card to another subway gift card.

Unfortunately it means that you have to actually HAVE another gift card, but at least this way you don't have little slacker gift cards left

Just curious but with those BOGO, how do any subway even make any profit? It makes sense for none of them to accept since they would lose money on this?

Almost no subway in the city does BOGO off right? I'm talking about say in the city like Los Angeles or New York or Miami.

It seems only subways that accept BOGO are in like rural areas or suburbs?

A lot of people can't be bothered with coupons. And if they're breaking even on you with promo it's still free advertising. My finance was never into subway until she met me. I only ever buy with a discount and got with her a few times. She now likes it too and can't be bothered with coupons and pays full price. Perfect example of why promos like this work in the long run. Subway knows what it's doing. These little punk subways that don't accept it annoy me. they think they know what's better for business than one of the most, if not the most successful food chains in the world. Okay buddy.

Also great deal. These are perfect when on the go doing my side hustle delivering. With promos this makes them like $4 each. There's nothing remotely healthy in that price range other than subway.

I see payment methods option in the account and it shows the different gift cards, but don't see an option to transfer.

I have the Android app if that makes a difference. In the app I go to Account -> Gift Cards. If you have 2 or more gift cards there, select one of them and select the Transfer Balance button at the bottom.

I saw this at the Costco in McDonough, GA (Stockbridge Warehouse [costco.com]). I'm not sure if this is the same price at other stores. Sign at the store says it expires 2/23/25.

I would rather have Jared babysit my kids than eat Subway.

subway has the some of the worst quality food (similar to Arbys). Doubt anyone in a subway deal thread has a clue about wholesale food sales, but there's quite the range of products, especially in the lower end of just lowest price per pound of "meat".

also, subway franchise owners never throw anything out (no matter what the expiration date says)

most subway franchises barely make a profit, subway corporate makes most of the profits.

What an awesome deal. Just got a $100 (Five $20 GC actually) for $60 at my local Costco in Alpharetta, GA. Most of the Subway stores nearby always accept coupons so bogo or $6.99 subs paid with Giftcards purchased at 40% off, can't beat the deal. Thanks OP.

P.S. There is never an issue with using gift cards with low balance. It does give you an option prompting you for an additional payment if you do it correctly, otherwise you can always transfer a new GC balance to your old card with a low balance. Did I say awesome deal getting $40 off $100 GC, best I have seen for a Subway GC Smilie

Its an issue for sure. I think its bait to purchase more gift cards. I have $4 that i need to spend. I can't even get 6 inch sub because of tax($3.99+tax with coupon). So only to use that $4 is to spend on their expensive $2.50 drinks/chips or buy another giftcard to merge that $4.
They dont let you use giftcard + credit/debit.
What I was implying is that it's probably intended on their part, so an issue to users, but not an issue to Subway.

Look into Subway corp. The last time I read about it was a few years ago, but basically most of Subway's franchisees are immigrants since the barrier (franchise fee) to entry was relatively low, but the flip side to that is that Subway corp has a lot of power over the individual stores. Typically corporate would make decisions like pricing changes, coupons, BOGO, etc and force the franchisees to just eat it, while simultaneously still demanding the same fees. They also did some crappy things like oversaturating areas with franchises, or forcing some owners out of their franchise with the intent of letting a "friend" get the rights.

If you recall the $5 footlong promo, the goal of that was to drive foot traffic and at that point (30 years ago), $5 was around breakeven. Basically, get you in the door so they can upsell chips, cookies, drinks, etc. worth noting that was also well before app/online ordering. A "breakeven" promo today would just result in a high volume of sales but probably not a lot of upsell.

So TLDR, that's why a lot of franchises don't accept coupons - it forces them to sell at a loss. the ones that tend to accept coupons are typically the ones in Walmart.

Still does the same. Really ridiculous how they don't fix that issue
This is a prime example of someone who speaks to hear themselves speak without even bothering to see if they are speaking truth or just enjoying the bathing in the sound of their voice. Well you better be an opera singer because you're spewing garbage. The Subway app for both iOS and Android handle anything you can throw at it. If you have 5 gift cards loaded with $20 each and you put in an order for $105.50, it'll use the 5 cards up then prompt for $5.50 payment. If you have an order for $21.50 it'll use 1 then allow you to use the second gift card to cover $1.50 or select the second gift card in line to cover it.

Stop trying to get involved in a conversation that you clearly aren't informed about if you. can't contribute factual information. Opinions are great. I happen to agree with the opinion many have in here that Subway isn't amazing, but that's an opinion. It's okay to have and share an opinion even if others don't agree. It's NOT ok to share inaccurate information as fact, which is what you have done, and is counterproductive.

What if i prove you wrong?

I order from the subway on a weekly basis and i have 6$ in giftcard sitting in app but their app wont take 6$ from giftcard and let me pay rest by other payment method. That's how my app work maybe you guys are given special privileges by the subway application.
