Samsung explained that they are making the display color more accurate, but it does not convince me. I also have iPhones which have accurate color but the contrast is also great.
It's just you.

They've turned on color correction and neutralized the gamma by default in the latest One UI, while Apple is still rolling with oversaturated blown out display settings.

If you want the unnatural punchy look back, the vividness is right in the display settings for you to mess up.

You can also download Good Lock and change the color theme to something more cartoony if that "convinces" you.

But some of you don't know what good battery is, bc you've used few phones. The iPhone 13 and higher, and many Android phones would kill the S22U easily. To you good battery is probably charge every night, maybe 4hrs of screen usage. Good battery is getting through 2 shifts imo. You can do that with 13PM, Moto Edge 23+, Rog phone, oneplus 12/13, v60, etc. The last Samsung with good battery was the S10+. The reason why endurance matters is to extend the useful life of the device, and reduce waste. Imagine how many would keep their current phone, if battery wasn't a concern. This could even apply to EVs.
Had a S22+ for nearly 3 years. it averaged 7.40 hours of screen on time daily over a week, earlier this year. Not great even considering battery degradation, but certainly usable.

I know a lot of ppl are comparing this phone to the s23 ultra, but it's like $225+ more expensive. You would have to wait around 2 more years before the s23 ultra go down to around $300. I think a comparison more proper around this price range would be the pixel 8 pro since it's also around $300.

So would you guys rather have a pixel 8 pro or a s22 ultra is the question.

Just got s25 ultra vs my S22 ultra, S22 has better optical zoom at 10x+, at 100x, S22 is much better. S22 S Pen has bluetooth, enabling it to be used as remote shutter, S25 doesn't have remote feature (button on pen doesnt click). S25 feels faster, but battery life not as good as my S22 IF I account for battery degradation over the last 2 years, even when turning 120hz off and using medium resolution. Overall if I could get a new S22 ultra vs S25 ultra, I probably pick S22 ultra if price is significantly cheaper.
If you haven't turned on the light performance profile on the S25, it's not really a fair comparison.

Turning Thermal Guardian down a degree also helps.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite is significantly faster, but it comes at a cost when run on the full performance profile.

Many people have the same experience as me. Color accuracy does not necessarily mean good contrast.

Theme S22U is a great phone. I just upgraded to the S25U from the S22U and the only benefit I've seen outside of "ai" is the battery life on the s25u

The s22u has 10x zoom va 5x on s25u, Bluetooth spen that s25 doesn't, super slow mo that s25 doesn't, and a curved screen which I prefer.

The s25 has better specs but it's not noticeable improvements imo.
I didn't know people actually liked the curved screen.

I'm glad you found a solution for your girl but I'm not sure floral accents with a shoulder strap are really my thing. I'm fine with my current case and haven't had any other issues in the 2.5 years of owning the phone but I also try to take care of my devices. My mention of the crack was really just to support the position that curved edges on phones suck and create an unnecessary weak point in the design as well as how this has potential as a worthwhile purchase due to trade in value of uncracked devices.

I switched from S22U to Pixel 8 Pro about a year ago. The main reason I switched was the battery life and cameras. The S22U only got my about 4 hours SOT while the P8P is getting me about 6 hours of SOT. Those 2 hours make a big difference. The S22U also got hot all the time and was unwieldy to hold for my smaller hands while the P8P is still big, but the rounded corners are more comfortable in the hand and pockets.
Besides from having the superior cameras, I think the P8P is snappier and has a smoother software experience. After all, it's a Pixel and the S22U is an older device (by 1.5 years). I know it's a niche feature, but I also love the infrared temperature sensor on the P8P. No more burning my tongue on hot liquids. I use it for coffee and tea all the time.
If you love OneUI and all its quirks and features, stay with Samsung. Otherwise, I'd recommend making the switch. I haven't looked back. The Pixel is simpler and more reliable. Even with the S25 being released, I still wouldn't switch. It's sad that Samsung stopped innovating. I even use the Galaxy Tab and Watch and don't feel like I need a Samsung phone as well. With that being said, a significant number of Pixel users reported spotty reception so be aware of that. Seems like some modems are better than others. If you live in a rural area, I'd take that into account.
Hope that helps with your decision!

Anyone else gotten a shipping confirmation? I actually canceled my order due to some of the helpful comments on security updates, etc. and not heard back.

Has anyone received one to confirm what "good" condition looks like?
For this price there are many, many S21 Ultra's new/sealed, and just on condition alone, I might prefer the S21 at the same rate.
