I got 2 of these recently - mainly for work and some gaming. They've been good and haven't had any issues. The 1 downside is that the buttons are on the rear of the monitor, which sucks to access. The cables included are also kind of short. Make sure to install Dell Display Manager.

If your GPU supports HDMI 2.1, use HDMI 2.1 for the best experience. If the GPU only has DisplayPort 1.4, then use DisplayPort instead.

Higher Bandwidth: HDMI 2.1 (48 Gbps) vs. DP 1.4 (32.4 Gbps) allows uncompressed 4K 144Hz.
Better Color: Full 10-bit RGB (4:4:4) without subsampling.
VRR Support: Smooth gaming if GPU supports HDMI 2.1 VRR.
No Compression: HDMI 2.1 handles 4K 144Hz natively, unlike DP 1.4 with DSC.

The game that I play, Everquest doesn't support 4k resolution yet.

This monitor is on the way out, a newer version should be released late this month. The main thing addressed with the new version is improved contrast.
Ips is nice because you don't need to worry about burn in as much. So if you game a bit and do a lot of programming or web work this is a solid buy.

Copilot Answer

"Dell Display Manager (DDM) is a Windows application used to manage Dell monitors. It allows manual adjustment of the displayed image, automatic settings, energy management, window organization, image rotation, and other features. DDM is compatible with Windows 10, 8.1, 7, and Vista."

I'm sure it can do Win 11 also.

I bought two of them to replace my old 1440p HP Pavilion 32 monitors - great for games, 4K, high refresh and great cost. I usually stay in the middle of tech anyway and did not want OLED burn in problems. Great buy at this price.

I code all day and this seems ideal, but... if I want to use it with my MacBook Pro, it's a no-go, right, because of Dell Display Manager only being available for Windows? Thanks in advance!

How is the contrast candy colors and blacks? I'm looking for something that'll be good for imaging but won't break the bank

Not sure if "1x SuperSpeed USB 5 Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen1) upstream port" is for image/data or data only. I have a MacBook Air M1, and would like to connect to monitor via its USB-C without any adapter to HDMI/DisplayPort.

I develop as well. I use the monitor on a PC without the Dell Display Manager program installed and it works well. I believe you could return the monitor if any issues - you will enjoy it!

Dell Display Manager is useful software, but not necessary for the monitor. I use it on Windows 11 and like it because I can set shortcut keys to change each monitor's input (I have 2 of these monitors, in a 2 computer setup) without having to access physical monitor buttons. The software has other features too.

Hi guys! I have a question about this monitor. For gaming, should I use display port or HDMI port when running on 4k 144hz? Which one is better, and what are the benefits?

Are you referring to the 120HZ ultra sharp that'll cost $949? I can't find anything on a replacement to this 4K 32" G series monitor by them.
