Just want to put in my 2 cents. I use this for both gaming and work. I used to have a two monitor setup but the extra resolution this provides allowed me to simplify my setup to have just this one monitor. I have my work laptop and gaming PC on a HDMI 2.1 KVM switch and my experience has been pretty good. 144hz 4k on Valorant works very well IMO. For productivity, I often find myself using FancyZones to split my monitor into quadrants because I work with a lot of different windows. The resolution and size of the monitor allows this flexibility which I appreciate.
There are two issues I face while owning this monitor the last couple years:
1. One of the USB ports on the bottom of the monitor broke. The blue plastic part of the port just broke off... this never happened to me on any other USB port I've every used. Dell did NOT cover this under warranty.
2. This might just be subjective and I didn't really do anything to quantify this, but I swear that the image quality looks crisper over DP 1.4 vs HDMI 2.1. I've gone back and forth across several months and every time I prefer the DP 1.4 image quality. Someone let me know if there might be a reason for this. The only reason I'm using HDMI 2.1 is because I couldn't find a reasonably priced DP 1.4 KVM that supports 4K 144Hz.

Hi guys! I have a question about this monitor. For gaming, should I use display port or HDMI port when running on 4k 144hz? Which one is better, and what are the benefits?
If your GPU supports HDMI 2.1, use HDMI 2.1 for the best experience. If the GPU only has DisplayPort 1.4, then use DisplayPort instead.
  • Higher Bandwidth: HDMI 2.1 (48 Gbps) vs. DP 1.4 (32.4 Gbps) allows uncompressed 4K 144Hz.
  • Better Color: Full 10-bit RGB (4:4:4) without subsampling.
  • VRR Support: Smooth gaming if GPU supports HDMI 2.1 VRR.
  • No Compression: HDMI 2.1 handles 4K 144Hz natively, unlike DP 1.4 with DSC.

I have this monitor. Currently using it with my M4 Max MacBook Pro via a Thunderbolt 4 dock. I tried a lot of other 4K monitors, this is one of the few that can wake up consistently from sleep when I connect my Mac to the dock. Other monitors don't wake up consistently and I always have to fiddle with disconnecting/reconnecting the cable to the dock.
I also watch HDR movies on this monitor and it looks good. Of course, not as good as the phenomenal display on my MacBook! LOL
