People have been using $5 Visible lines ($25 - $20 referral code for first month).
EDIT: I guess Metro doesn't have much of a time limit between when letting your account expire and placing new orders because I just placed an order for this ip13 and it's only been about 3-4 months since I let my previous metro plan expire. Also, I placed the order just minutes after creating a visible account and porting that new visible number over to metro.

I mean, all this to save $40 for the second line, and that would be only if I could even order a second phone with a second account.
Anyone else getting stuck at the same point as me?
Here is the tip for new buyers:
1. Place your next order after you received that activation email, even you can activate earlier by entering the order number.
2. From your third order, try to add the unit A to your address if you are living in a house. Your CC will still go through in this case. Some CC will ask you some security questions but you should have no problem to answer.
3. When the order fails at the last step and they ask you to contact customer service to complete the order, it means you get the "port lock" on that transfer number. You need to call their porting Dept at 800-518-7519 to remove the port lock. Then you can try again in 4-24 hours. If you keep fail on this, you need to contact their Virtual Retail Dept at 833-382-8482. This is the most powerful department which can help you to place the order.
4. Currently, as I know, if you cannot order the phone online, you might need to pay $75 for another phone when you call Metro. You cannot add second line to your account for $35 even the CSR want to make it. The system just not allow the order go through. So for someone who wants to have more phones, the best way is to call the Virtual Reality Dept and order through them with multiple calls. In this way you can get all your phones in one day and no need to wait. You can use the same name/address/CC for different orders.
