As with all Tello deals, this can be combined with a referral to get $10 Tello dollars to use in the future. And if you don't really need 35GB, you can downgrade after month three. Tello makes it easy to change each month, so you don't have to pay for more than you need. And while it doesn't work for this plan, if you have a fixed amount of data/minutes, you can rollover unused units by manually renewing a day before the autopay.

!!!Warning!!!: They operate on a 30-day billing cycle (28 days in February), effectively shortening the billing period and costing you an extra month every four years. Over time, they steal 5–7 extra days from you per year. I'd recommend considering an alternative.

Getting out in front of this question that's definitely getting asked shortly:

Tello physical SIMs purchased from Tello or from approved providers need to be activated by the customer in the Tello online account within 30 days of purchase.
If not, the physical SIM will automatically expire and it will be unusable for future activations. No refund of the physical SIM price will be granted in case of such expiry.

That's funny. lol.

Have you compared their pricing and quality of service with other carriers? What more do you expect?

I agree. So easy to switch between plans when you need more (or less).

Also, if you're new to Tello, you can always start a new month anytime. Say it's been 22 days and you're out of data....you can just start the new month then and reload your monthly data allotment.

You can also grandfather in unused data, but you HAVE to restart your month manually before the month is complete. Say you have a 10 GB/month plan but only use 7 GB....if you restart your month say on day 28, you'll get 10 GB for the new month + 3 GB from the previous month for a total of 13 GB. If the month "autopays" and renews on it's own, you lose the 3 GB and start with a fresh 10 GB only.

Lol. This is not entirely accurate. Smilie

Their 30 day billing cycle is clearly 30 days. You're paying for 30 days of service every 30 days. Yes, even in February... they don't shorten your plan to 28 days, the renewal date is always 30 days after last renewal date.

And think about it. If they renewed on the same day of every month, as your post seems to prefer, then you WOULD be getting days stolen in February, as there are only 28 days from (say) Feb 19th, today's date, to a "monthly" renewal on Mar 19th. You can't fault Tello for having fixed cycle billing AND claim they're ripping you off when the alternative is to actually be ripped off by 2 days.

Please don't be an alarmist and just provide the facts. Smilie

I've been doing this for over a year on a 2nd phone I use exclusively for travel hotspotting. I paid for 15GB of data the first month. Every 29 days I toggle my account between the 1GB and 2GB plans. This prevents the unused balance from resetting on renewal day, and slowly builds banked data I can use in an emergency (like the weeklong power outage we had last June). Anyone can do this, as long as they set a reminder and have the discipline to do it every. twenty-nine. days. (Or sooner if the banked data is close to depletion.)

And no, I don't have to do this on Day 27 in February. Lol. Smilie

Does it include free hot spot data?
The plans up to 15GB allow use of the entirety of your data, including any banked data, via hotspot. Plans of greater than 15GB (including the Unlimited plan and their prior 25/35GB plans) cap hotspotting to 5GB during the current billing cycle.

Can you please explain this little more ? I'm trying to set this up for my son as he hardly makes calls and we are spending 10$ a month
Another post already explained, but to reiterate: if you renew prior to the auto-renewal any unused buckets will carry over to the next month. So if your son is on the 2GB/unlimited minutes plan which is $10, check the date of your next renewal. The day before, manually renew at 2GB/300 minutes for $8. And let's say he uses 1.5GB of data and 150 minutes that month, then when you renew for the next month, I would downgrade to the 2GB/100 minutes for $7. The unused data and minutes will rollover, so he will have 2.5GB and 250 minutes to use in the next month.

And if that seems like the sweet spot, then the next month you can manually renew for the exact same plan. You don't have to change anything to get the rollover.

If you spread out the cost of an extra month every four years that's like 50 extra cents every month. I wouldn't mind that too much.

It's a shame they can't support Apple Watch. They've been great, but I'm going to have to dump them.

This plan only has 10GB of data(full speed) for the month then it may be throttled. I don't have experience personally with us mobile but with other providers, passing that threshold the data gets frustrating slow at times in my experience.

Absolutely!! I'm looking elsewhere for this very reason!' We paid twice last month! This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. For anyone on a budget you can't plan for this
On the bright side, you won't have to pay anything in February if you renewed on the last couple days in January.

I switched to Tello a few months ago and no complaints. They have some of the cheapest plans possible for those that don't need a lot of talk and data
