Scotts has its Scotts Turf Builder for Small, Northern Lawns Bundle + EdgeGuard Mini Broadcast Spreader on sale for $99.99. Shipping is free.

Thanks to community member scrototeabaggins for sharing this deal.

Features:
  • The bundle includes the following:
    • Scotts Turf Builder Halts Crabgrass Preventer with Lawn Food (apply early spring): This product kicks off your year of multi-feeding by preventing crabgrass growth and feeding your lawn for a vibrant green-up after winter.
    • Scotts Turf Builder Weed & Feed (apply late spring): This product helps clear them out of your yard. And with this second feeding, your grass will continue to thicken and crowd out future weeds that try to pop up later in the season.
    • Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard: It not only kills pesky listed lawn insects but also helps build strong, deep grass roots to help your lawn beat the heat too!
    • Scotts Turf Builder WinterGuard: Fall Weed & Feed rounds out the year by controlling existing listed weeds and nourishing your lawn so it can recover from summer stresses and build strong roots so it can come back better next spring.
  • Ideal for small lawns up to 4,000 sq. ft.
  • Everything you need to promote a vibrant spring green-up, prevent crabgrass, kill annoying lawn weeds and insect pests, recover from summer stresses, and build strong roots before winter

First to control crabgrass you get a much better bang for your buck with granular prodiamine, and mixing it with water. And doing a liquid application with a sprayer. Example I bought 5lbs of this last spring and I should have enough for 2x applications each year for 2+ years on my 1 acre proprety. That 5lb container cost me about $90. The coverage and effectiveness of this is much better than anything Scotts will sell you.

Fertilizer wise, Lesco from your local siteone can be bought for less than Scotts on the regular.

Tip from experience, buy your fertilizer off season when its on clearance. Big savings to be had there. In the end nitrogen is nitrogen. I haven't really seen any difference in Scotts, to Lesco... to off brand
I had this spreader and it was pretty awful. The wheels are hollow and you can get buildup in the wheels. You can mitigate this by covering it up. The other problem is the slinger is set too low and a portion will be blocked by the wheels. If you're spreading fertilizer, it will cause striping in your lawn.
Deal for larger spreader and larger bags also available which I'm considering for a larger lawn.

Too bad you can't build your own and choose other ferts. For my application, I'd choose

Early spring fert - halts crabgrass

3 bags - Scotts® Turf Builder® Lawn Food - https://scotts.com/en-us/shop/fer...-food.html

Not a fan of weed and feed

Check Ace Hardware for the 4-step program that covers 15,000 ft. The price should be $290.
There is always a rebate available for this product line. This year, it is $60.

Totally depends on your turf type. The Weed and Feed can't be used on St. Augustine and Carpet grass which are widely used in Texas. Not a fan of weed and feeds though. Weeds don't need treating when grass needs fertilizer and grass doesn't need fertilizer when weeds need treating. Your much better to spot treat weeds as need with a herbicide spray. Weed and Feed puts out lots of herbicide over the whole lawn when it's only spot treatment may be needed.
