Unfortunately t mobile charges $30 extra on phones (apple sells ip16 for 800 and t mobile for 830.
T mobile also asked for $35 connection charge.
This extra $65 surcharge makes it less appealing ☹️

Years ago, I think they offered temporary device on locks, but I haven't seen or asked for something like that in a while. I wouldn't trust a rep to give me an answer on this anymore.

Nope not paid off, yes it's temporary unlock and it definitely works and lasts a few months and you can do it again when it expires and lock and unlock as needed. The iPhone I'm not sure how it works as I bailed on iPhone after the 14 series.
