I'm still using my dell inspiron 7559 from 2016, it only has 8gb ram and works great still. I use it for watching movies, web browsing, play games on steam, it works fine for me. My typical games are warcraft, day of defeat, battlefield 1942 "desert combat mod", friday the 13th, resident evil. I haven't had issues with any of my steam games. Most games I believe will run on 8gb of ram, maybe not all games fun at max settings on 8gb but they run. The video card is usually the thing that determines what type of games can be played though, but my laptop is old, so the vid card is old and still runs games fine.

Good price for what you're getting but just keep in mind that gaming is basically a no-go here for demanding titles made in the last decade even on low quality with FSR performance. It's got one quarter the number of compute units as a Steam Deck.

The game they're showing in the marketing materials ... the GPU here doesn't even come close to meeting the minimum requirements. It needs to be 5x faster!

Good enough for my daughter to play on. I got the Ryzen 5/610M version for $50 more. I used the military discount code for the 10% off. $304 shipped.

But Ipad probably would go end of life before this would lose ability to run apps. I won't buy another Ipad after my last one went end of life and gets no more updates but works fine.

Can you recommend which exact 16 ram would fit?

The description says that the RAM is LPDDR5, which isn't removable.

Don't mislead people when you have limited knowledge on the matter. The RAM is LPDDR5 and only comes with one slot which is soldered, and hence it is definitely not upgradeable: https://www.dell.com/support/manu...lang=en-us

On steam store it says minimum ram needed for that game is 1gb.
This laptop looks like the limitation for games is with the video card, steam store says minimum vid card should be "Graphics: GeForce 4+/ Radeon 8500", so as long as the video card in this laptop is comparable to what the steam store says is needed for red alert 2, it should play fine, ram is not the issue.
I haven't heard GeForce 4 or Radeon 8500 referenced in a long long time. Even the anemic GPU in this machine is maybe 100x faster.

My seldom used Inspiron 15 3583 had dell black logo screen loops and restarts. I tried everyth8ng by checking bios and restore utility and same issue. Do I have no solution other than reinstalling windows 10/11 through USB?
