Think of this as a form of recycling. There's thousands of people picking this deal up because there's still solid use cases for these tablets in 2025, especially at these prices. It's okay if it doesn't fit your needs, but there's plenty of others where this deal makes sense for their needs.

I received the 10+ and installed Google Play on it this morning with no problems. I saw on the mod site that some things were locked in this version, like the UI. So I did not even try it. I added Google Play and ended the ad service. I then added chrome via google play. It seems to work.

I have seen some people on the earlier thread say they had an issue and had to do a factory reset and try again. You might want to look at the earlier thread.

lol, too funny. I still have a working iPhone 5S I keep in my life jacket or toss it in my backpack because it works perfectly fine and it's 10 years old.

I would say no because when they sold a batch of these a couple months ago they sold me a beat up one with a defective battery that didn't charge properly. To their credit Woot sent me another without having to return the first one and the second one was pristine with a good battery.
A great deal if you get a good one but YMMV.

Fire products are simply JUNK, I'd never had a good experience with them! Would not spend another dollar on them

I have the 2019 version which is identical to this aside from this having 3gb ram instead of 2gb. Since I'm only using this to read comics I don't think the extra ram means anything but if you want to run apps then the extra ram is a big deal.

so 2019 =2gb ram, 2021=3gb ram

Everything else is basically the same... they might have upgraded the camera.

I sent 6 of the HD8 to friends in the Philippines 6 years ago. All but one are still being used daily. Not bad for leas than $50 each new.

Amazon Fire tablets are garbage at any price. If the deal was they were paying people $35 to take one I still wouldn't want one.

If all you want is something to consume Amazon content on then go for it I guess.

It more of a ewaste than other things because of how locked down Amazon makes it. If could actually install a new rom on it it be so much more a reason to get a few.

is Woot EVER going to get their Amazon sign-in process fixed???

There are many websites and even Woot forums that discuss the problems people have trying to log into/create a Woot Account with their Amazon log in credentials.

Event Woot forum support is clueless and never offers any "real solution" to a problem they're having on their end.
