Various Retailers have Artemis: A Novel by Andy Weir (eBook) on sale for $2.99.

Thanks to Deal Hunter phoinix for finding this deal.

Available from:About this book:
  • Not crazy, eccentric-billionaire rich, like many of the visitors to her hometown of Artemis, humanity's first and only lunar colony. Just rich enough to move out of her coffin-sized apartment and eat something better than flavored algae. Rich enough to pay off a debt she's owed for a long time.
  • So when a chance at a huge score finally comes her way, Jazz can't say no. Sure, it requires her to graduate from small-time smuggler to full-on criminal mastermind. And it calls for a particular combination of cunning, technical skills, and large explosions—not to mention sheer brazen swagger. But Jazz has never run into a challenge her intellect can't handle, and she figures she's got the 'swagger' part down.
  • The trouble is, engineering the perfect crime is just the start of Jazz's problems. Because her little heist is about to land her in the middle of a conspiracy for control of Artemis itself.
  • Trapped between competing forces, pursued by a killer and the law alike, even Jazz has to admit she's in way over her head. She'll have to hatch a truly spectacular scheme to have a chance at staying alive and saving her city.
  • Jazz is no hero, but she is a very good criminal.
  • That'll have to do.

The book is fine. Nowhere as good as Project Hail Mary and not as good as the Martian either. I would still recommend it though.

Goodreads Reviews:

The Martian - 4.4/5 [goodreads.com]
Artemis - 3.7/5 [goodreads.com]
Project Hail Mary - 4.5/5 [goodreads.com]

I'd agree, I read it after the Martian and before Project Hail Mary, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. 3rd of 3 for those, but I think most people who liked either of those would like this one too.

I 100% agree with your review.

Want to add, this book may appeal to YA readers, especially, because of the protagonists.

(P.S. I'm so looking forward to the movie adaptation of "Hail Mary." That was such a fun read!)

I'd look for this at your local library before spending any money on it. Definitely not something I'd own to read again.

It's a cleverly named title with Artemis being the Goddess of the moon. If you get the audio book, Rosario Dawson does one of the best readings I've heard in any audio book. Overall it was a good book and worth reading.

Man project Hail Mary is great. It's a better take on the idea of the Andromeda Strain.

She did an amazing job and I loved the book. Makes me wish we could see her as Jazz in the movie adaptation.

I cannot overstate how bad this book is.

For well more than a decade, I've read comfortably north of 100 books per year. And every year there are maybe 5 books that just...suck; that I stop reading. This was one of them. I get not everything can be James S.A. Corey, Craig Alanson, John Scalzi, or, ironically, Andy Weir. But this book, even though it has Weir's name on it could not have been written by him. It was just so...bleh.

Probably a little too old for that.

I liked the book (4/5 stars for me), but The Martian is my favorite of his books. PHM took a weird Sci-Fi turn that deviated from The Martian's realistic fiction theme. Still entertaining though and worth finishing!
