This is tempting, but I got burned by Elegoo on the Neptune 3, when they released the Neptune 3 Pro 6 months later and all firmware updates on the 3 stopped entirely. The Marlin and Klipper community never had an officially supported config (it's been a while since I checked) due to garbage documentation of the board they used.

Lots of people raised this issue on Reddit, Facebook etc, and Elegoo pretty much said too bad.

Hard for me to trust initial releases after that, especially when a lot of "reviews" thus far are from paid YouTubers.

Just my 2 cents.

This is not a resin printer; it's a FDM printer that uses rolls of filament. Here is a link that explains the differences. [formlabs.com]

I found you can use promo code SASE10 to take off another $10. Helps take the shipping cost down.

Unrelated but can someone recommend any open source or good 3D designing tool. I have a 3D printer which my little one uses to make fun objects. He generally downloads them from thingiverse. But now he wants to make his own models on which I have no clue.
Tinker cad is probably the easiest entry point. If they get into it and can handle a (frequently rough) learning curve you're looking at Fusion 360 or Blender or the like.

Preliminary reviews are positive in terms of print quality and ease of use. It's definitely not as polished as Bambu Labs but the weak points, from what I saw, were not deal breaking.
Preliminary reviews tend to be to influencers who want pre release items for more clicks, and give favorable reviews.

No thank you.

Anyone comment on this printer compared to the Bambu P1S ?
Bambu has the AMS, "automated material system?" which allows multi color printing. It allows not only more colorful designs, but it also helps with supports (multi-material), or even being lazy for color switching on standby.
Otherwise they seem similar (plus the price of course).

This is a pre-order so unless you magically find someone on SlickDeals who is also a YouTube influencer for 3D printing, you're not going to get an answer that is valid

The non-Carbon model is $199. Seems crazy for a self enclosed printer to be that cheap... Both seem very competitively priced.

That one is not enclosed

Ok. Maybe time to move on from a thread you have no interests in.

I have a prusa mk3s+ that has been down for a year. I've replaced thermistor and the other wire but still won't heat. Gets to about 90 and shuts off. Is this a worthy replacement or should I try to fix the prusa finally? Any suggestions?
Have you reached out to Prusa directly? Their support is pretty amazing. It maybe a bad MOSFET (mainboard replacement), and/or it's PWM (my guess). Could even be a bad PSU (power supply), but I'd expect that you would have bricked if that were the case.

Been pretty impressed with what Elegoo has turned out. (I have one Mars printer).

My 2 cents

Edit: I have a few more printers Creality/Prusa/Wanhao

This is getting me interested in finally pulling the trigger on a 3D printer. The features offered at this price point seem great... but not sure I want to wait 4 months to get one.

Looks like it'll support multi filament printing in the future? How would that work?

I pre-ordered on day 1 and cancelled my order on Friday. I'll order again in q3 when the multi color add-on releases and they have a reduced price bundle for both.

newb here - is the all-in-one family combo necessary? or would the 5kg carbon fiber combo a better option?

It isn't. Just get the printer by itself and get the filament elsewhere
