The insides will never get fully dry and it will mold. Get a duvet cover, you take that off and wash it and the comforter stays clean

Don't cheap out on a duvet cover. Anything that touches your skin while you sleep should be of top quality. Really makes a difference when you come home from a hot day and lay into sheets that stick to you vs cool you down and feels silky smooth (pardon the pun)

So what you're saying is we're paying $50 to these dry cleaners for our down comforters and they're just washing them?! Insane 🤯
Unfortunately.. yes. I'M SORRY!

you should know that most "down fiber" comforters are typically around this price anyways.
Looking at Amazon and definitely doesn't seem to be the case ($50 on up) and not sure that down fiber is a correct assessment.

If you look through just a few of those that are priced in that range, you can see they drop to this price regularly through sales. I'm not saying this is expensive, or an every day price, but it sure as heck isn't some "ohh man, at this price, I might as well"... Its a meh sale on a meh product.

should've read this earlier (well I think I did but somehow forgot or ignored it).... I bought this and washed it yesterday, and after 5 hours of drying, I'm still not sure it's dry and it's lost its shape (presumably it'll resurface)..... The tags do say to dry clean only, but jeez

any suggestions on how to clean this in the future? even with a duvet cover, you still have to wash the comforter eventually right?

oh I see, hmm I was thinking even with a duvet cover, the comforter can still get dirty b/c the duvet cover is porous so there's bound to be bodily fluids/dust/whatever seeping its way into the comforter
