I don't think the purple car was ever in the TV series so the mustache seens trivial by comparison.

This product just seems to exist so Macfarlane can get more use out of their Batmobile plastic mold. He-man did something similar for Panthor and Battle Cat toys but at least both were in the actual show (granted the show was just a toy ad).

Oh all toy companies do this. I collect transformers, and the repaints are aplenty.
