Great deal. Bought ours during BF 2023. Pro tips: The 'intelligent' grind can be turned off in settings, then it reverts to a preset grind time in seconds (e.g. 23 seconds). This ensures consistency and lets you make subtle adjustments once familiar with process. Use single wall doubleshot basket, Preheat portafilter, wipe dry, grind, tamp twice, brew (suggest selecting increased water amount from default to get 1.5oz shots), set brew temp to +2 or +3 above default; for latte art use whole milk +6 foam, 160 degrees. Favorite value subscription is Intelligentsia black cat "analog" variety - about $17 bag freshly delivered every 2 weeks.

For those with a Capital One account, their online shopping portal has 6% cashback at Macy's and 10% cashback at PC Richard's. Macy's has more locations so easier to return if you don't like it. They also have a less restrictive return policy for those not sure they will keep it after trying.

No. They have faulty electrical outlet. Also, don't let the wand contact jug if u use auto frothing. Get from Bloomingdales u will have 90 days return window

I used to tamp and do all that with a previous Breville. It was fun for a while and now that I had this beast for a year, it makes a mean cup of coffee. The burr is legit good. Perfect pulls every time. Absolute steal at $1k. 0 issues.

This is a great deal. I have several espresso machines.. Gaggia Classic or Bambino paired with Sette 270 Wi as my "main setup" in basement .. but I began using the Barista Touch (non impress) on the days I have to cook and take my son to school, and now I use it 90% of the time, I think the ease of use brings me back to it, love the steam wand (even though I do not use the auto setting)

I feel anyone can get to a decent espresso by pulling 10-30 shots in a weekend with the basic Breville. I got a Rancilio which technically is in the same semiautomatic as breville but is significantly trickier in reality.

My wife and I purchased this at full price 2 years ago and have used it basically every day since. It's amazing. Every time we have friends come over they ask for a latte. It takes a bit of trial and error to find the exact settings when trying a new brand of coffee, but the auto tamping and built in suggestions really help. I highly recommend using fresh roasted beans and the single wall baskets. We stopped getting lattes at coffee shops because ours honestly can taste better.

In case there is confusion, the express impress also has the auto dosing and tamping handle. Looks just like this but doesn't have the digital touch display. I have it and it's outstanding. The shot pull timing on single/double shots is also automated (you can change if you want but it's been fine for me). You still need to dial in the grind setting, I'll admit it took me a while, but as it was my first non automatic espresso machine, it has been amazing. It's regularly on sale for $650.

Yep, I'm seeing bad reviews all over the place (Amazon, Crate, Reddit, etc.). And this 'sale' price is being offered at many retailers. I wonder why.

Can't speak to this model, but I've had the same Barista Pro for almost 6 years now without a single issue. Has long since paid for itself with daily lattes.

I have the Touch, and it's great.
If you're *serious* about coffee but new, get this one listed.

However, If you like coffee but don't want to tinker, the Touch is great.

Here's the deal with the Touch: along with the regular espresso basket, it comes with a set with "dual wall" ones that makes any sort of inconsistency in the grind and tamping go away. The same shot comes out whether I do it (worked at good coffee shops in college) or my 5 year old. Tasty shot, beautiful crema, every time.

For me, the Touch is completely adequate and I've just switched over to the dual wall basket because I just don't have the time to tinker around.
