I've had a set of Calphalon for the last year and they've held up really well.

I just resurrected some Cuisinart frypans I bought around 2006, also checked their warranty. Currently Cuisinart gives you a lifetime warranty on their pots and pans. Time to get on the telephone and raise some hell!!

Seems to be a pretty good deal.
The Calphalon Classic Set is often reviewed as one of the best "less expensive" stainless steel sets. And this Premier set is a higher line for a lower price.

The same 8 piece set has been going for $300 on Amazon:

At worst, it's $30 a pot/pan for brand name stainless steel cookware, so I went for it.

China stainless, with unknown additional metals, or is it tested?

That's good. I got disappointed with my Cuisinart tri ply stainless steel set with the 2.5qt sauce pan not having an even bottom, and most of the surface not making contact with the flat top burners.

Absolutely no warranty support either - crickets when I submitted a warranty claim online.

Might give these a try.

In terms of discount off the usual price this is a good deal, but it's still hard to pull the trigger when you can get a tramontina made in Brazil set for about the same price normally and every comparison I've read from people who have had both say tramontina is significantly nicer. Then again I have a calphalon SS pan from 10-15 years ago and it's a killer pan. Quality has declined so much in that timeframe it's hard to say whether that's indicative of current quality, though

Hahahaha, I'll try, but there's a limit to how much time I can spend pestering a company to honor their warranty 😅

I bet the 2006 pans are built better than the modern pans.

Potentially dumb question. Any reason why you couldn't put these in a dishwasher?

Generally speaking, a dishwasher uses very aggressive detergent and the washing cycle is tuned to clean dishware.

Handwashing stainless isn't difficult or time-consuming. Get some Bar Keepers Friend and use plenty of hot water and a Scotch Brite pad.
