Where did you find the $30 plan? Cheapest I can find is $35 Bronze
It auto-applied a $5 discount once I went to check out, some people also reported getting a discount via email

I'm chatting with support now and the agent is telling me I need 60 days of active and continuous service to unlock. I'm on day 62, paid for the extra month. They are refusing the unlock.

One more data point.
I bought two 16e during the deal and activated both on March 4th. I bought a second month with one of the devices last night and woke up to that phone unlocked. The phone without service remains locked.
I am now trying to transfer the eSIM to the second phone to unlock it without having to pay for a second plan…. First attempt says that it's not supported or some nonsense.
transfer not gonna work. need a distinct payment on the 2nd line to trigger unlock.

The agent I called told me the same thing, but mine still auto unlocked. They're not very knowledgeable. Just turn on WiFi and leave it for a few hours, then reboot.

I went through Facebook chat and got an agent to call me from the unlock department. This agent told me I met the requirements and processed the request and my phone unlocked right away. It was an unneccessarily stressful morning, but we got there in the end.

Do you know if I made the 2nd month payment, but the device is out of the US (probably doesn't have service when I refill it, I paid after the 1st month expire for a few days), would the device still be remotely unlocked?

What is the easiest way to pay for the additional month? I entered the cell number on the device on Straight Talk's website and get an error reading "there are no active devices in your account." Thank you!

Good luck! You can try texting "refill" to the 611611 number. I went through the chat on their website and it took me 90 minutes just to add a month of service. And it's been 36 hours and the phone is still locked. If it doesn't unlock by tomorrow, I'll have to call their unlocking department. I went through their unlocking policy website (https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/) and it said that the phone is eligible for unlocking.

Yes, I'm currently on a work trip and mine unlocked, just make sure you have WiFi connected.

Try rebooting, also make sure you have WiFi enabled and leave the phone charged for a few hours

Well that's all the data points you ever gonna need. Buy a 2nd month. From now on, when you buy a phone from StraightTalk/TotalWiress/TracFone/etc/etc/etc, make sure to buy 2 months so you don't have to deal with this bullshit that we all went through.

So far the only data point of an automatic unlock without a 2nd month of service occurred on Day 63. Mine is on the 6th, I'm waiting until then before forking over more money.

We should file FCC complaint and charge back if they force us to pay for 2nd month. At the very least, incur costs on Straight Talk.

Just ignore. You only care if you want to keep to use the service
BTW, just one month of service didn't work for me. They updated their unlock policy on April 1st. Even if you activated your phone beforehand, the new policy applies to you. The new policy says "For all cellphones Activated on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically 60 days after paid Activation and 60 days of paid active service."

So you need to pay for 2 month of service.

Why you don't you re-read that several more times, it's quite alright, some people are very slow, I totally understand. What does all that thinking in your brain is telling you.
  • Occured on day 63
  • One data point
