The deal is you pay $300 for the phone + $65 for 1st month of service at checkout. If you continue on with them you will pay $65-25 = $40 per month for a year. I would also assume you could get the additional $5 off for being on autopay. If you do NOT continue to on with Total you just don't get the $25/mo benefit. This is not bill credits like you see with post pay plans.

I don't get the complaint? You pay $300 upfront. You get a $25/mo credit for 12 months, making the phone free if you keep it a year. Don't keep it a year, you're still getting a $600 phone for half price.

so just keep it for 60 days, and you end up paying something like 400 for it?

I understand everyone values plans differently but 65 pm means 780 per year. You can get infimobile plans for a year with 15gb sufficient for most use cases for about 115 on Amazon I am not sure there is any real discount there in this deal

Sigh, I wish they can do some kind of a deal for existing customer.
Can you not buy as a new customer and or new line and use it on existing line?

I am seeing $60/mo for the required plan, but first month is $65. So two ways to pick this deal:

Phone + 1 month plan + wait 1 extra month to get unlock = $300 + 65 - 25 =$340.00
Phone + 12 months of service = $300 + 65 + 11*60 - 25*12 =$725.00 or $60/mo

Neither one is really a deal. For comparison, RedPocket is offering this phone for $450 after 3 months of service (cheapest option is $20/months for 10GB). Requires a full year of service for unlock, so that's $690 or $57.50/mo.

Sad to see Apple phasing out their compact phones, this new 16e is about 1" longer than the SE.

Just to be sure, the 300$ upfront is after prospective credit, so if you stop paying you'll be charged the remaining 300$, or it's 300$ upfront before credit, so if you stop paying you'll still get it for 300$ + one month service cost? The wording is not very clear and it makes a huge difference.

Exactly

Does this stack with their 15% off first phone email sign up?

If this math is right then option 1 is pretty good

I think it's actually 60*2
why did you subtract 25?

I ordered this and you do not get the $25 off initial purchase for the first month of service.

Option 1 you don't get the $25 credit without paying for 2nd month, so it should still be $365+tax unlock after 60 days. Still a good deal.

I asked a representative in the chat for clarification: He gave me contradictory answers, first he says the device will stay locked if I leave before the 12 months, then he says after 60 days if the phone is eligible to be unlocked there are no extra charges.
"The device is now available on our website with a special offer of $25/month in service credits for a year. To receive all credits, you must remain on the Total 5G+ Unlimited plan for 12 months; please note that credits will be forfeited if you switch plans or do not keep your service active continuously.
Thank you for waiting! The device will stay locked to our service, and you'll need to pay the full fixed price of the service plan if there are interruptions in refilling your service.

My Math seems to agree with others:
299 upfront
+ 65 first month
+ 60 second month
- 50 for 2 months credit. = $375 plus whatever taxes.

Sound right?

Doesnt ship until 3/4 btw at the earliest.
Guess I need to wait.

I believe he means if you pay it off then it can be unlocked?
