iphone 13 only has 4gb ram which makes it not usable. 16e has 8gb ram which will keep the phone functional for the next 5 years
Not usable for what?

I don't get the complaint? You pay $300 upfront. You get a $25/mo credit for 12 months, making the phone free if you keep it a year. Don't keep it a year, you're still getting a $600 phone for half price.
Exactly

I'm still rocking my iPhone SE (2020) with 3gb ram as daily driver. Works fine to play Pokemon Go. 😅

If you are thinking about using this as a trade-in down the road, think twice. If this follows the past SE line, trade-in and resell values will be low.

I don't think it's fair to say the phone is free after a year of credit. You have to be on the Total 5g+ plan which is a $60 plan. With $25 off that plan is $35 a month. With BYOP and port that plan can be had for 50% off or $30x or the total 5g plan is $25. So really the phone is costing $300 up front + an extra $5-$10 a month compared to the BYOP promotion, total price for the phone ends being $360-$420 after a year of service. Still not bad but definitely not a free phone.

Its quite simple- the deal is- do you want a $600 for $360 which will be unlocked in 2 months?

Be careful its a $25 credit back for 12 months so while it is unlocked at 60 days you will be leaving hundreds on the table-- $250 to be exact. However unlocking is good if you need to travel internationally and want cheap esim.

If you are into Verizon network, tws is a good deal.

I cant believe this phone is $600 though for 3-4 year old tech.
This is a warped view- seriously? You have to pay $65 a month for another 11 months service dude. You arent leaving anything on the table.

No I don't want a $360 phone. I'm responding to the comments stating this phone is free. It's not free , it's $360. The visible plan giving an iPhone 13 with the annual plan is a truly free phone promotion.

Kind of a bum deal due to this. Cheaper for the device upfront, but you need service for a year.
did you really think/expect any carrier to just give 50% off on a newly device?

Actually YOU are reading it wrong. It's 50% off the device upfront, and another $25 off per month in bill credits for 12 months making the phone effectively "free".

So you pay $299 for the phone, $60 for the first month of service, turn off autopay immediately, phone is unlocked to do whatever you'd like with after 60 days.

I personally find it disappointing apple is no longer making a phone with a home button, but I've ridden that horse long enuf time to learn how to use the new phone with out a home button. I need a new phone asap , my current se3 memory's full and it's gotten slow and freezes occasionally etc etc. if the unlock period starts at purchase and not after I receive it I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this.
The unlock period starts when you activate the phone, not at purchase date, nor when you receive it.

Did anyone else notice that the 16e doesn't support mmWave or Ultra Wide band?

Isn't that important for Verizon, ST & TW?

Better off getting iPhone 13 or 14 unless you are looking for new processor and long term software support
48MP camera is nice!

It doesn't, important? Where available users like it. I'm in a county of 700,000, not available and probably won't bee for years, if ever.
