The Not-So-Good
Bass: Without a subwoofer, low-end sound is weak. If you love bass-heavy movies or music, you'll feel the absence of rumble. There's a bass adjustment, but it's limited by the hardware.
Immersiveness: As a 2.0 system, it downmixes 5.1 Dolby Digital into stereo, so it won't deliver surround sound. It's not competing with Atmos bars or setups with separate speakers.
Connectivity: No HDMI ARC means you're stuck with optical or analog inputs, which limits control options (e.g., no TV remote volume sync via CEC). Bluetooth is handy, but it's basic (version 4.0, no high-quality codecs specified).
Value: Some argue that for a similar price, competitors like the Vizio V-Series 2.0 or Yamaha SR-C20A offer more features or better bass, though they may lack Bose's brand polish

I have this. It's solid, but the lack of HDMI/ARC is annoying. I can't use my TV remote to control the volume.

So the first few comments are hilarious, to be clear this does NOT have hdmi arc and does NOT include a universal remote. Read the description, this is just a newer version of the Bose Solo 5 bar except with a slim remote instead of the giant universal that it used to come with.

Just an FYI- The Bose TV Speaker is an upgrade from this and goes on referb sales quite a bit. It can also add a subwoofer if you wish.

That being said, this is a decent soundbar for the price. Make sure your TV has an ARC or eARC HDMI port for best performance.

Lack of HDMI has me not considering this even tho I need a budget soundbar.

This is just basic sound bar. Some TVs let you control the volume if you output the audio through audio line out jack.

If you use optical, you would not be able to use the TV remote for volume control!

Only inputs are 3.5, optical digital/toslink, coax digital. My PC monitor only has 3.5 but I guess that's ok. TVs will vary, but most have a 3.5 headphone or optical output. No HDMI ARC on this.

Honestly for a hundy I'd probably lean towards this Sony one which has HDMI ARC, but it lacks 3.5 audio

I was looking to add a soundbar without the bulk of sub for the bedroom tv. Have the frame tv and wanted to add a little nicer sound. Will this pair nicely?

I bought before and it is very good to use as tablet speaker or phone. Just put near your bed. On a table or somewhere to listen to music or watch movie

I too bought this from the last sale. Better than TV sound. Even better than a cheap 2.1 I bought from amazon.

As mentioned previously, the worst of it is the inability to use a single remote for power & volume.

Looking for one that is rechargeable. My TV is mounted above the fireplace and the electrical outlet and HDMI cable is nicely hidden. Don't want to add a device that requires a cable running up to that outlet. Not a clean look.
