IMHO: No Slickdealer should buy a subwoofer new. Buy used instead. Subwoofers typically last a very long time.
My history of used subwoofer purchases:
2019: SVS SB-2000 (non pro) with isolation feet: $275
2024: SVS PB-1000 Pro: $180
2025: SVS SB-3000: $450
Being a Slickdealer doesnt mean u gotta buy used. Buying used or new is a preference. Some people love to buy used for maximun saving and are fine with spending time to search locally. Others just dont want to deal with the hassle and time consumption and just want the new items with 100% warranty.

A sub is not one I would buy used unless the deal is too good to pass up. Those internal amps usually have a limited lifespan due to the constant vibration.

Dunno, been using subs for 30+ years of all sorts and never had amp fail. Pushed the heck out of them, both in Home theater and audio applications.
If the amp is going to fail its likely due to them just being crap/defective, or pushed more than they should due to forced ohm load

SVS is overpriced these days, I got the 2 1400s for $1400, while the cost of ONE PB-2000 Pro (only 12 inch) was over $1k at the time.
