I highly doubt Troy built is making these engines…. And according to the google AI. …..

No, Troy-Bilt does not manufacture their own engines; instead, they use engines primarily made by a company called "PowerMore" which is a joint venture with a major Asian manufacturer, with the engines being specifically designed and branded for Troy-Bilt products; essentially, they design the engine specifications but don't produce them in-house

This is fairly common across the industry. There are some exceptions, I think Honda, for example, makes their small tool engines, but most major brands use 3rd party engines.
