Bought prototype 2 a few months ago. You need to download some patch to get the game to work. Simple google search will help otherwise you get stuck on the first mission

Adding on the the previous poster, Prototype 1 is and has always been a shit show on PC. There isn't a true fix but most of the time you'll end up unplugging USB devices trying to get the thing to launch. There are tons of old reviews about this. Honestly, I'd avoid the PC ports and stick to the remastered console versions of you're really itching to play.

Haven't tried it yet myself but a vast majority of ProtonDB users seem to say it runs flawlessly as of a year ago. Before that it appears to have needing changing to a different version of Proton. Steam also lists it as playable so worst case just request a refund as long as you have less than 2 hours of game time.
