Speaker power guidelines are only for electrical conformance testing purposes only. You will not damage a speaker by using an amp with more power. You are far more likely to damage a speaker by having too little power which causes a clipped signal.
FYSA - these are $999 everywhere right now, if you're gonna buy at this price support a local HiFi shop instead of Amazon
Well life is full of hardship and you come to this website to save money or sometimes even buy something you don't need just because it's on deal.
For this specific deal, I am audiophile and I probably could never afford it.
Those who can afford I look at them for inspiration for the hard work they must have put to be able to afford them.
I am expecting lot of thumbs down for this. In real life you don't get to speak this openly, at least online forums help you express freely.

Pretty much every AVR today has the ability to control startup volume at a set point. So that is not an issue.
A lot of integrated mini amps, which are quite popular, simply don't.
That said, with these recommending 40-100W amplifier power, the chances of actually blowing them are probably pretty low with most amps.

Does anyone have experience with these in a Home theater setup? I'm thinking of using 5 of them in a 5.2.4 setup, but worried if using one as a center would come of "thin"

FWIW, KEF apparently makes some of the best centers available in terms of wide/consistent dispersion due to their coaxial design, e.g. the KEF Q650C.
You might want to check out this center speaker video from Erin's Audio Corner (timestamped to the Q650C's dispersion pattern, but I'd recommend watching the whole thing if you're considering spending $300+ on a center speaker): https://youtu.be/GZrdsxrcpBw?t=1283

If you haven't listened to them before, you might want to before investing in them.
KEF is kinda an acquired taste.

If you do I agree with caleo, get their dedicated center.

I also agree with others, they do like/prefer clean power for optimal performance.

These or the Q Concerto 🤔. I don't really need wireless.
These aren't wireless. If you have sub then these are probably the better option, the Concertos are better without a sub.

The build quality on the LS50 is much better than the Concerto.

I don't know about THIN but you really want a center focused KEF speaker.

Does cleaner means "no hissing sounds " or it means something else or it is just personal feeling?
Hissing sound is an amp issue, or some interference in the power or signal chain. Either way, it's not a speaker issue. Very efficient speakers may make a hiss more audible, but that's just a higher degree of transparency to a problem elsewhere in the system.

That's the unique beauty of what we hear.
You get to determine your preference and worth by just listening, it's truly that simple.

Unfortunately people often fall for the fallacy that there is some special science or some professional audiophiles that supersedes that!

It's not a cost thing, there is always something better.
You determine whether that better is worth the cost by just listening imo!

Tried these out for near-field use (6 feet apart) on my desk powered by Schiit Vidar with a Jotenheim preamplifier. They are fun speakers. Have a great midrange punch. Forgiving listening area. Ended up sending them back in favor of the b&w 706 series which to my ear sounded great with everything I threw at it and had that "special" nature where the quality of the music is distracting and pulls you in. This is obviously not a detailed or technical review, just my high level impressions. Love those Bowers and highly recommend them, but it's easy to understand why these KEFs have a following. If you're on the fence (and have the firepower to drive them) do it!

I agree with you about the bowers, i bought a pair of on sale small floor stand 704s3 for my midsize home office compared with kef and few others. I tested some kef wireless versions in Best Buy, they're good just not really catching my ears with mine music taste.
All these hifi brands have different sounds and suits different taste for different music type which means they are subjective so for whoever wants to pull the trigger, I'd recommend listen to them beforehand, like bust buy magnolia.
