Just demoed these in a shop yesterday. Sound is very clean and detailed but they would definitely benefit from a sub.

Ask yourself concentric drivers are worth this price. Single point of source? I mean sitting 10-12 feet away, if the 3 drivers are few inches apart, most speakers can deliver almost the single point of source. If you cant tell the difference, dont pay for the difference.

Just because Kef put both mid and tweeter in a single cone, does not justify the price. A $100 mid level speaker replicate the sound in this and age.

Agree! A good $100 speaker would still convey the same song lyrics as this $1,000 KEF.

I have the first version (non-meta) and they're amazing little speakers. They're garage speakers driven by a Yamaha WXA-50 (50 watts) now, and they put out a lot of great sound for the size. They're efficient enough for the little 50 watt amp. When I had them as my primary monitors (set up in a bigger room with more power), I wanted more bass, so you'll want a sub to go with.
I will say - put them on stands and they'll sound lots better. Putting them on a bookshelf will deaden the highs a little.

Does anyone have experience with these in a Home theater setup? I'm thinking of using 5 of them in a 5.2.4 setup, but worried if using one as a center would come of "thin"
Not these particular units, but I have the Q150s in a 5.1 home theater using one of them as a center channel. They are spectacular. It may sound better with a purpose built KEF center channel but the single Q150 as a center has been great for me. The speaker design of the Q150 is similar to the LS series but at a lower price point.

They use concentric drivers to create a single point source. Very sophisticated drivers requiring special engineering and high end materials. Only brands to use these are KEF and Tannoy to my knowledge
Not necessarily true; both brands that Andrew Jones was/is affiliated with, ELAC and MoFi, uses concentric drivers.

As I noted, I said to my knowledge. It is not a definitive list, and there may be one of two other niche manufacturers using that technology. Even with the brands you mentioned, it is not a commonly used technology.

Kinda been on the fence with these for a while.

Managed to get Klipsch RP600M so cheap I couldn't pass them up and have been very happy with them for a 2.1 PC setup.

I wonder if anyone has made the move and could say the upgrade was worth it.

SVS SB3000 for sub, and one of the higher end Fiio amps.

I also have a ton of rack amps if needed running my theater setup on a full rack of Crown XLS 1502 amps and my DIY subs on XLS 2502.

I went ahead and ordered these to try, I'll move the Klipsch to the bedroom if I like them.

If not I can send them back.

At least I'll finally know if the speakers that were once top of my list are worth it or not.

I have kef q150s which match up similarly to your Klipsch. I also have the svs3000 micro paired with the ls50 metas in the larger living room. Honestly I could not tell the difference but the ls50 look better so that got living room placement instead of the office which is where the 150s are.

I was actually really tempted to get the 3000 micro especially with having a small office with a ton of gear (and just added two solar stations taking up even more room)

But it was not on sale and didn't think it worth full price.

Got the SB3000 open box for $900 else was going to use my DIY 18" sub.

I just got this to test out as well: probably not any better than what I have now, but I enjoy trying new gear and sharing my thoughts with others.

and for someone going for a pretty setup the gain knob matches the LS50 conesWink

Yeah I found the 3000 micro for $750 on FB marketplace with the wireless adapter. I actually ended up returning the kef kc62 which I did buy retail so it felt like I was saving a ton of money when going to the svs. I could never get the kef kc62 optimized for the space for some reason but the svs has been great. Maybe it's because the svs has an app and made optimizing things really easy...
