I bought the sd/microsd reader because I can't find my old ugreen and suddenly my ugreen appeared after this got delivered.
This card reader reads fast vs ugreen, and I have used it in my ipad pro and 15pm. The only "downside" of this is that the card doesn't have a spring loaded indicator. You just push it in to read.
I got a Wavlink WS-ST336[amazon.com] for $40 about six years ago, and I would recommend it over these readers, as it's more versatile and useful.
Not only does it read memory cards, but it also has a dual port hard drive docking station, 2 fast charging USB ports, and 2 USB 3 ports that support UASP.
I've been using the dual hard drive docking bays for two 1TB SSDs that I use for file sharing. I figured it's more efficient to share files on SSD drives, with less wear and tear compared to mechanical drives.
You can find Wavlink WS-ST336s pretty cheap on the used market. In fact, there's one for sale on eBay for $12.99[ebay.com] right now. I wouldn't be surprised if you contacted the seller and offered $18 shipped total that they'd accept. And no, I'm not the seller
Received mine today. Performance is quite good. Tested with a Sandisk Extreme card. Sequential test measured 176MB/s read, 125MB/s write. My other reader (USB stick, also from Sabrent) measured 95MB/s read, 86MB/s write. And the USB stick reader constantly overheats and disconnects.
This one (wavelink) is good for sitting on a desk. The Sabrent one is more portable.
