Big initial deposit required, but banks paying 4.3% on savings typically do not pay sign-up bonuses. Getting both a good rate and SUB is nice, and unusual.

No direct deposit games - nice. Finally, a bank that doesn't care where the money comes from.

The risk here is that you have to keep $5k in for 60-90 days to get the 4.3%, but CIT can lower the rate in that timeframe. However, CIT has historically had good rates on this account for quite a while - not at the very top of what is available, but certainly within shooting distance of the top. I would expect them to remain competitive.

I just tried to transfer 15k and the offer popped up 4.10 to 4.50 APY

it even keeps popping up after I accept the offer too, cause I did still want to transfer the money for the $900 chase offer.

maybe keep trying different amounts or wait a couple days
I tried 200k without success .

I did the transfer process and they offered to boost my rate to 4.5% APY for 12 months so I stayed. I've been a member for over a year so maybe that had something to do with it.

I got the "we need more information" and then got rejected without asking for more information. Guess my cash wasn't cold or hard enough.

Since CIT is dead to me, anyone have good experiences with Barclays (4.4%) or others? I'm really looking for a new bank that can handle both checking and savings for both personal and LLC fairly seamlessly.

Their screening process is ridiculous. I got denied with no explanation other than to request my Chex Systems report, because that's who they use, all AI no human to help. There is nothing negative on my history, such an unsettling feeling being denied like this when I've got a stellar history...LOL! After some searching, I found the same thing has happened to others on Reddit, so I don't feel so bad. Now I really need to get some savings into a HYSA though, so have to start the hunt.

Live Oak Bank has a much better $300 bonus for $20,000 on deposit for 60 days.

Couldn't open account? Never been a member, perfect credit, no bad bank history, bizarre.

I find that with these banks, you have to put your name, address and email exactly as it is in your public records on file or it will be denied
