Am I correct that all I am seeing is domestic brands like General Motors and maybe 1 Volvo?

You already missed the boat on EV deals. We got our 2019 Nissan LEAF brand new for $20K after $10K in Tax Rebates. Still loving it!
2 FREE chargers are right across the street from our house too. Have paid $0 to drive locally for 6 years and counting! SLICK!
How much is insurance on your EV?

From what I understand all this does is links you to a dealer and there is no real obligation for them to honor any prices right? Is there not a risk of the dealer pulling the normal shenanigans and adding in stuff like "transmission warranty" on a direct drive car for 3k, free oil changes for life for 2k, anti steal tracker for 5k etc and just make a 40k car 60k?

You get a Costco print out price. They do try to sell you extended warranties and extras like any dealer would but you can refuse. I bought my Toyota minivan and the price was decent. Didn't have to haggle. And it came in at the kbb average.

Getting EV cheaper in past doesn't mean missing the boat on EV.
There are so many variable including need, condition, prices, etc.

Example: Buying house 20 years ago for very cheap doesn't mean no more house buying with current price.

So then what's the benefit? So you show up to a dealer saying that they "agreed" on 30k or whatever, but then they try to hardball you like usual and say you really need all these markups that add another 10-20k. Then you either negotiate them off, the price down to between the Costco price and the markup price or leave? I'm not trying to argue I just don't get the point of this service if it's just a "suggested" price to the dealer and they don't actually follow it whatsoever.

We need a system that's just like Tesla or rivian or lucid or whatever, the price is the price.

You know you can refuse those things, right?

They do need to honor the price with Costco. It is not that difficult to buy a car and there are various ways to negotiate ahead of time. I bought many vehicles and always tell the dealers that it is a cash deal and that if they have to send me through finance, they can, but if I don't have the keys in my hand in 30 minutes, I'm tearing up the contract and the deal is done. Works like a charm.

It's a shame that GM cars don't have apple car play or Android Auto. I would be interested in some of their cars, but no carplay/AA is a deal breaker.
