It's a Ubisoft game, at the end of the day. Serviceable, but too afraid of offending anyone and trying to appeal to everyone, to really allow it to have its own identity. Once the Star Wars theme park feeling wears off, there isn't a very fun game underneath, in my opinion. You'd likely get your fill of it just paying for a month of Ubisoft+. If you don't want to do that, I'd wait a while longer until it hits $20, probably around Black Friday.
This game is not terrible, but it's also not great either. Basically just mid, and If you never play it you aren't going to be missing much either.
If you do play it, it can be entertaining enough to play through if you like Star Wars. There was a big update months after the game release to fix a lot of problems at launch. One of them includes removing the "force stealth" mechanic on some parts of the game.
So now instead of the level resetting every time you get spotted in a certain area, you can just blast away and throw the stealth approach out the window.
That helped address one of the frustrating parts of the game when it launched and made it more enjoyable to play if you want to play through for the story.
Below $40 now it's easier to recommend than the $70 launch price, but I can easily see this game being $20-$30 by the end of the year. If you aren't in a rush to play, or have a backlog to finish. Just wait for a deeper sale, you aren't missing anything ground breaking that makes you need to play this now.

If you haven't played Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor those are much better games if you're looking for a good modern Star Wars game.

It has more RPG elements than I expected. Upgrading abilities, weapons, vehicles - buying, selling, trading items. I like that your decisions affect the story and how you can sway your standing with each syndicate/faction.
I do think a lot of the side missions are copy+paste, but the main storyline has you all over the galaxy and meeting new people on different worlds.
Beware: the melee is nowhere near as smooth as Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor, but this game is more about stealth tactics anyways.
