You should use Velcro straps instead as they don't choke the cables and are easily removable and reusable as needed.

Honest question--why would one buy this set over the one below that is currently going for $3.99:

https://www.amazon.com/HAVE-ME-TD...08TVLYB3Q/

Granted the 12" one in $5 set has a higher tensile strength (45 lb. vs 40 lb.) but the 6" one in the $4 set has a higher tensile strength (40 lb. vs 25 lb.), so I'm guessing that if you really need that extra 4 lb of tensile strength in the 12"...but does that alone make it worth getting the $5 one vs. the $4 one?

Great observation! $4 deal is better! Remember, Harbor freight has 1.000 cable ties for $10, many size and 600 of the 1k are 4-5". Depending on need.

I got these last time and the plastic that they made out of is not that hard so they don't hold as strong the nylon ones I had previously. they will probably be good for most people.

I bought this exact set last time around. Tried using them yesterday and more than half of the long ones were completely defective, total junk. And I can't trust the ones that work, they could fail tomorrow for no reason. Straight in the trash.

Thank you for the review. I already bought them so will check them out. Any recommendations for better zip ties?

Expect a high failure rate with that $4 set, I bought it and especially when using the smallest ones I experienced at least 50% failure when tightening. I can't speak to this $5 set, but they're probably the same. Check the 1/2 star reviews and if they talk of high failure then that's what you should expect. Still likely worth the money, but may not be worth the extra work to try 3-4 ties on a single application before you get a good one.

The $4 set is not UV resistant.
