I have one listed as display model, not sure worth the trip to get a display model.
Do they come with best buy warranty or just the manufacturer?
Balance of manufacturers warranty, but you can buy their warranty if you want it. I bought a display of the 77" C9 during Covid and it had a decent number of hours on it, still performing beautifully. I guess technically its lifespan will be a little less than brand new, but I paid practically half price so that's a deal I'm happy to make.
How are the 'fair' condition tvs from bestbuy anyone have any previous experience? There's more than one near me and I'm really debating on pulling the trigger

I got the covid LG deal too and purchased an extended warranty which ends this year. I've heard they will replace the tv if deemed to have burn-in and such but not sure how hard geeksquad folks would scrutinize. I think I have a little burn-in but faint if anything - anyone have experience with pulling the trigger on warranty claim and how they evaluate?

I bought a good condition one from best buy and it came with all original accessories but no box. The screen still had the protective peel. I think sometimes they just put it as fair so they can discount the item more. Depends on the situation.
It's really dumb to post bestbuy open box deals here. Usually there are only a few avail for local only pickup. They should not put any on SD
This thread is proof that you're wrong. It alerts others that the price might have dropped in their area as well.

In my experience the condition ratings vary alot at best buy. If it were me, I would go in person and see if I can look at it.
Was about to share this one...
I literally just picked mine up yesterday.
I had ordered one from the Levittown, NY Best Buy earlier this week, but then it popped up in Westbury, NY the following day (both locations are roughly 20-25 minutes apart). I placed orders at both stores just in case one had any cosmetic issues. After work, I checked out the one in Westbury, and the staff was friendly enough to power it on and test it out in front of me. While opening it, I noticed it was practically brand new—all the plastic seals were intact on the unit, the wall mount box, and even the remote control.
The next day, I rented a U-Haul and picked it up. They even offered free delivery if I canceled the order and repurchased it in-store, but I didn't want to risk it, so I decided to pick it up myself.
I'm about to cancel the Levittown, NY order, so it should be available for the next lucky buyer. Happy hunting, fellas! Still can't believe I got a brand-new unit at half price just because the box had been previously opened. FYI, even the box looked brand new—just missing the tabs.
Strangely enough, I had my 77" listed on Facebook Marketplace, and I was able to sell it the same day, recovering half of what I paid for the 83G. Now, the wall is clear for the new setup! 😀

I recently posted this tip on another SD thread, specifically about BB open box. Might be helpful to people here as well.
Pro tip: I figured out recently, after making several BB open box purchases, that you can call or chat with BB corporate and they have a full description of the condition of every open box unit. Just a few days ago, I found a G4 open box that I was considering. There were 2 units available at different locations, purportedly in the same condition. The CSR was able to tell me about: display model (y/n), screen condition, scratches, dents, accessories, box, how long owned / when returned, etc. It made the open box purchase process less of a crapshoot.
