I have one of these that I've been using very lightly for a year, and it's drifting already.

I'm a very light player. I'm an adult without much time to play anymore, and no kids. I play relaxed games, nothing competitive.

There are a lot of options out there in this price range with hall-effect sticks. I'd strongly recommend you pick up one of those, instead.

Can you list some of those options?

I like the ones from 8bitdo, but there are a lot of other options too, which I am not personally familiar with.

Don't over blow this idea of joy stick being drifted
Having gamed for about 35 years joystick drift is easily the most common reason for a controller end of life. Xbox controllers from original to x series all have had this. They have been worse in recent years, but not near as bad as N64 however that was also a first generation joystick.

I have one of those as well. I have been using it extensively, no stick drift whatsoever.

Drift stick is a thing yes, not disagreeing that seriously.

However to say it is sooner as, for example 96 hours, than later is far from the truth. It unrealistic unless one abuses it.

My 360, One, and Series controller have none of that and I don't play with my dirty hands. I knew it will happen but when is the question.

I say the Switch joy cons are the worst of them all I have ever experienced. The stick is small, light, and cheaply made.

Years of gaming experience has nothing to do with this

People often recommend you get these at Walmart because of the 3 year plan that's only 5 bucks. You can get a new one at no extra cost if it develops issues.

That's crazy… my old Xbox 360 controller is like 2 decades old and only recently started drifting/ having issues. Other than that the controller still works great after many MANY years of abuse… quality just keeps going downhill

I've got two mains (one for Xbox one for PC) that have hundreds if not thousands of hours on them. No drift yet after about five years of use. Some of it will be luck of the draw, but I haven't had trouble.

lol wrong, stick drift already on a controller my kid got for Christmas. We baby that thing. It had 50 hrs max and started to drift. Luckily it was in the 90 day warranty. Go Hall Effect.

Your loss. Mine is already a loss on Nintendo camp.

I'll join you once I experience it on Xbox. Thankfully none.
