Anyone have any experience with this 'Official Lenovo Store' ebay account or know what distinguishes it from other formal Lenovo channels?
This laptop is seemingly almost $240 cheaper than the same configuration via Lenovo.com here: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/la...bP_qeBLKCJ. It would be great to understand if there are major support, return policy, warranty differences, or other variables that explain the price delta between Lenovo ebay account vs. other formal Lenovo channels.

I bought the touchscreen version of this laptop about a month ago: 21M1001VUS (notice the V for my laptop instead of W for the laptop in this post). I'm happy with it. Some notes:
  1. I contacted seller "The Official Lenovo Store" on eBay to ask what warranty the computer comes with and they replied: "Thank you for your inquiry. All our products come with a 1-year warranty." I thought that must be why the same laptop sold through eBay and Newegg Marketplace was cheaper than through Lenovo's own site which advertises a 3yr warranty. I ultimately ended up buying from Newegg Marketplace (seller: Lenovo) and the warranty is 3yr on-site. That was a pleasant surprise. YMMV.
  2. The weight of my laptop (again, touchscreen version) is 2.952lbs. The charger weighs 0.536lbs and is a slightly more compact design than the one I'm used to from previous X1 and T14s laptops I've owned.
  3. Linux support exists but is still in its infancy. I run Debian 12 (bookworm) and the following was necessary for full support:
    1. You need to manually enable "Allow Microsoft 3rd party UEFI CA" for secure boot in the BIOS before signed linux kernels will boot.
    2. Use kernel 6.12 or later to ensure you have ath12k drivers for WiFi and acp70 drivers for microphone. At time of writing, and specifically for Debian, it's necessary to manually compile the kernel to enable a few AMD sound configs. This should be fixed in both 6.12 backports and 6.13 for trixie+sid in the coming months: https://salsa.debian.org/kernel-t...uests/1386 .
    3. Manually install ath12k firmware for WiFi. Follow the instructions in the readme at https://git.codelinaro.org/clo/at...k-firmware .
  4. Lenovo reordered the Fn and Ctrl keys compared to all my previous X1 and T14s laptops. From left to right: Ctrl, Fn, Win, Alt. Fortunately, the BIOS allows re-assigning them... but it's still weird to me to look at text "Fn" and know I'm actually pressing "Ctrl".
  5. Windows 11 has been perfectly stable (I dual boot Windows and Linux).

Battery life? The P14s G5 got some poor reviews on the battery. Looks like this should be more reasonable as spec'Ed.

According to youtube review, this model is the hottest 14 inch laptop. Good probably only for office work.

I love the old trackpoint (can't remember what is called) rubber eraser mouse. Wish all laptops had those. I hate touch pad mice because my palms always ending up touching it farking everything up!

Between this and the P14s, which is the better one in terms of durability and performance? I would be using mainly for software development, video editing and maybe some 3D rendering.

would you mind providing a source for this? from what i'm seeing on professional reviews on these laptops, the G6s aren't particularly hot, but the G5s are

re: durability, they should be about the same
re: performance, the P series might get you more bang-for-your-buck because of the optional discrete graphics they can be specc'd with
