I really really enjoy this game. Reminiscent of the og ff7 due to freedom of movement around map. A TON of content. Highly recommend

I loved the game but I think for a lot of people who played the OG, they simply don't care for the changes with the story.

For me, I made peace with that after Remake. Did I like that there were story changes? No. But did I like that they expanded on and explored more of the characters (like Jessie, Biggs and Wedge) in the game? Yes. So I just accepted that there's going to be things they changed that I didn't like but there'll also be things they'd do which I'll enjoy- and did enjoy in Rebirth.

I loved Rebirth, if it wasn't for the volume of mini-games (especially near the end) and the few unusually difficult boss fights near the end (older game these days, so don't have the time to dedicate to gaming but I didn't have any issues with difficulty until Rufus and some of the latter summons, plus the final-way-too-long boss battles) for me on standard difficulty, I would call Rebirth one of the best games this gen (so far).

This was a huge improvement on Rebirth. Minigames were much better.

I'm hitting up 140+ hrs. I found myself not enjoying it at first because I felt I HAD to do all the side quests that opened up, but that's not true at all. Once I let myself have fun by just engaging with the main story, I naturally went back to all the side quests. After finishing the main scenario there's about 50 percent of the content left still not done yet. It's worth to do for the bits and pieces story I missed.

I felt it was a much better game overall than ff7 remake. There were many more highs than lows.

This has got to be one of the most love-hate games I've ever seen based on the comments I've seen everywhere.

I feel the hate is from the small but vocal crowd who didn't like the story being "padded" or changed around so it would stretch out to 3 games. I did feel a bit of "let's get on with the plot" a bit but that was me knowing the story beforehand. Once I let myself enjoy the spectacle rather than rush through, it was much more enjoyable.

I knew this was going to be special when in a dialog interaction between Cloud and Aerith that 👀 funny you mention that...

This game was a vast improvement over the first remake in the trilogy. The side quests are actually fun and not just fillers and it had a great variety of minigames. Haters gonna hate, and that's a huge fan of the original

I hated it so much, it's a totally different game. But oh well.

I'm playing this now and there's a bunch of forced mini games you have to do in the story and it's a pain. Just got to gold saucer and was forced into the fighting game mini game. A lot of the side quests are pretty meh. They locked quite a few useful stuff in the world Intel and that is just boring open world filler. I 100% the first region but I barely did any of the others since it wasn't enjoyable. The game is filled with so much padding to get 3 games out of 1. I played the original, but I liked ff9 and tactics more. I like this more than remake though.

The controller skin is pretty sweet but putting it on was super stressful.
