Mechanical hard drives are still great for most storage. I have over 100 TB of storage, and I can't afford to buy all solid state drives for that. Keep your OS and games on an SSD, and store the rest of your files on a mechanical HD until the prices come way down on solid state storage.

Bought a desktop from them 2 months ago. Came very well packed, looked like new. Would buy from them again.

Is this better than the Lenovo deal from a few days ago with the i3 for $249? I don't know anything about CPUs these days.

You'll have to be a little more specific...

Wayyyy better. This machine could potentially - with a better PSU and something like a low profile 4050/4060 - game! It's a real processor. Get it while lasts.

This chip - the ryzen - has more cores, faster cores and is a much higher end chip in general.

The phrase overkill comes to mind.

Something like a sub-$100 Optiplex with either Ryzen or 7th Gen or newer Core makes a lot more sense for a NAS. This is a consumer machine and is built like one. It's a performance bargain but it doesnt have a million drive bays or a super beefy PSU, something you will find on an Optiplex Mini Tower.
