Pay attention to the units here, this is 50 liters, not gallons as you may use to be seeing rain barrels in the States.

It says 13.2 gallons on the side of the barrel.

50L = ~13 gallons.

I got a 30-gallon plastic trashcan and installed a spigot. It works fine as a single rain barrel. I'll daisy chain a couple more trashcans this summer for ~100gallons.

This is too small to be very useful. I've got a couple of 32-gallon Rubbermaid Brute cans. I use a bucket to access the water. I might add a cheap spigot as others have mentioned.

  • Too small
  • Too expensive.

    You're paying $1.89 per gallon. You can find cheaper regular prices (per gallon) on Amazon for larger collapsible barrels.

Rain Barrel Spigot: https://www.amazon.com/RAINPAL-RB...54&sr=8-14
20 Gallon Trash Can: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-...om=/search

Cut a hole in the top of the trash can for the rain and it's a bigger more sturdy rain barrel. There are cheaper spigots on Amazon and you can use a container you already have for the barrel.

Can someone explain why I would need collapsible as a feature for my rain barrel?
