The article doesn't explain what happened. May have been his fault. Some people mistake autopilot for full self driving. Who knows?
Tesla has a habit of claiming driver error when the FSD disables itself right before a crash.

I'm not sure how many times you changed timing chain in your car but it takes I'd rather spent 30 minutes changing oil, than spend 5 hours more trying to make it from Manhattan to Montreal without running out of juice.

Yeah I get the feeling the people that go on and on about maintenance are the type that always brought their car into the dealer and just paid for whatever the dealer told them was needed. I've owned many cars, some to 200k+ and just had regular maintenance with no crazy issues. Never had an engine or transmission fail. Just an alternator here or there, changed out 12V batteries (EV's have these too), maybe a set of spark plugs or 2, water pump or tstat (which EV's also have). Nothing really I couldn't handle myself, and all that with just changing the oil around every 10k or if the MM said to (which in the Honda's I've owned has been typically every 9-11k or so).

But what I said about dealers is correct. An oil change with quality components literally costs $25 and your time, but if you just roll into the dealer when the car MM comes up and you just blindly pay for things could costs hundreds of $$. My wife's 2020 Odyssey had a B16 code I believe - basically, change oil, change trans fluid, rotate tires and then a litany of "check this" "inspect that" blah blah blah. If I just brought it to the dealer that's like an $800 service for what cost me maybe $100 and that's using OE fluids for the transmission (which is like $15/qt).

Paid 60k - 7500 tax credit 2 years ago. This is a good deal. Unless you want the newer version.

Hate the CEO, but love my new Tesla. I don't know the CEO of who built my house, TV, furniture, office building, appliances, etc etc. Silly to make major purchasing decisions based on the personality of the CEO.
Not an equivalent comparison.

I'd get 2025 only because improvements are massive like the 3 update. If you need one now, it's great car and price .

Only Tesla haters are those who've never driven them.
yup bunch of C&C.
make up your own mind, do your own research, a deal either is or isn't...

So that's about 370 miles. You would probably need only one 20-30 minute stop. Where did you get an extra 5 hours from?

Hyundais are having lots of software issues.
No software issue. There is however a major hardware issue that Hyundai estimates in 1% cars

You're covered with a free electrify network for a couple of years. At least, for the purchase made by your sister last November, got unlimited miles charging for two years free on the electrify network (with a 30-minute session limit). Additionally, anyone can purchase an adapter and use Tesla's network.
Tesla blocks cars that are not authorized so NO you just cant buy an adapter and charge. Only 2025 Ioniqs have built in NACS and have access to Tesla network

However the free charging plan ended with 2024s. There is no more free charging with any ioniq

We are talking about EVs here. Why do you compare ICE to EV?

BTW hyundai has 10 yr warranty so all those would be covered

Not even that! The computer does that too! Even tells you where to charge. Options of where to charge. Who much charge remains when you get there. Nope! Not even that. Big Grin
Bro, computer tells me to charge 5 minutes from my house and there is no way to remove single charger from the route.

I haven't had any of those problems. Mine tells me when to charge and where to charge and will navigate me there, assuming of course I've put a destination in. If there's not destination, then of course it won't know when to charge because it doesn't know where you are going. Maybe yours needs a serious update? Big Grin Mine has always done this.
