You've got to ask yourself what you'll be using this laptop for most.
If you're all about a stunning screen, easy portability, and the latest tech like Wi-Fi 7 and Thunderbolt 4, then the Asus is your winner. Think vibrant colors, deep blacks, and a machine that's a joy to carry around.
However, if you're a power user who needs to tackle heavy tasks and appreciates the option to upgrade your RAM down the line, the Dell is the way to go. It's got the muscle for demanding workloads.
Basically, if you're looking for a fantastic all-around laptop for everyday use, movies, and travel, the Asus is a solid pick. But if you're planning on pushing your laptop to its limits with demanding software, then the Dell's extra horsepower and upgradeability will serve you better.

I purchased the Asus open box for $372 but with cash back sites and points from Amex, it will be $346 all in. I could be biased but I'd go for Asus - I avoid Dell in general.

I picked up this laptop from dell .....tax and all for 490 back in early December. Only issue I have is when I put it on charge outside of the one it came with and I'm on the internet ....the fan ramps up some. Also my surface pen connects with it but I researched and never could get the cursor to come up. Iwound up buying a wacom pen and haven't looked back. Overall great laptop.

Came here to ask the same. For now I think the screen in Asus is better but let's wait for others.

Stay away from Dell Inspiron laptops, I've owned 2 of them, both developed keyboard issues. And I don't use the keyboard a lot, instead I have been using wireless USB keyboard, so basically the laptop is just a CPU with screen. Still keyboard problems developed after a while. So be warned. I don't have problem with HP laptops however.

Thanks for the explanation. I run lots of different chrome tabs and edge tabs. I also use RDP to remote into work and I also use teams. My older Lenovo with upgraded 20gb ram starting to slow down and not sure why, maybe CPU cannot handle.

With that being said, you recommend this one and upgrading the RAM?

For your use case, yes. Here's why without writing an essay.
~ Your workload (tons of tabs, RDP, Teams) hits the CPU hardest.
~ Dell's Core i7 is stronger than Asus's Core Ultra 5.
~ Dell's RAM upgrade is a big plus.

Get the Dell. Upgrade the RAM to 32GB and call it a day.

Do you have a good value/performance recommendations on what RAM to pickup?

I've used Crucial without any issues. Plug in the model of your system or let the scanner do the work for you. Here's what I found

My comment was a TLDR for that specific use case.

For raw CPU performance in typical tasks, the Intel Core i7 150U tends to be faster. If you plan to utilize AI functions on the computer, the Intel Core Ultra 5 226V will be better.
