I have 4 of these, 4 JJN 200W bifacials, 4 BougeRV 200W 16bb bifacials and 4 Renogy 200w shadowflux panels. The Ecoworthy ones are the poorest performing for me. Best buy would be the JJN 200W bifacials, only $130 with coupon on Amazon.

What would I use to turn off low voltage lights in the daytime powered by a battery charged by solar panel and back on at night

What you have is a pretty robust system with a lot of upgrade-ability. I would recommend looking around diysolarforum.com, and watch Will Prowse's videos. Also, make sure you get the right gauge wires for the amps you will be using - lots of resources online to tell you what size wire you will need. Don't cheap out on wire or fuses/breakers. www.batterycablesusa.com has good wire and you can get it to the exact length you need with the fitting you want.

Get dusk to dawn lights that have a light sensor built in.

Yes, you'll want a cheapie charge controller. 12V lead acids are pretty forgiving, but without some sort of charge controller you'll kill the battery in a year. depends on your usage.
PWM is slightly less efficient than MPPT, but it really only matters if youre running an array into a good size battery bank. Youre talking about 20-30% for a significantly higher price. If youre maintaining 12v batteries with 1-2 panels, you dont need MPPT.

Portable panels are OK. Stick with a decent brand and you should be fine. 200w foldable panels can be a bit difficult to setup. I have one for travel and adding to my solar setup during winter/bad weather. It is a hassle to get up. I would also suggest staying away from the flexible panels. They get hot quick and voltage drops. I had a 100w one that would max out at about 10w. Eventually one of the diodes blew out in one of the cells and produced even less energy.

When did you get JJN for $130? I see they always have lightning deal for $144.99. I have tight space and tree, was looking Shadow flux for a while, lowest I found was around $169. Really hope it is also bifacial

I got the these the last time these were on sale.. like a couple weeks back and these don't perform as well. I pulled the trigger for the JJN bifacial 400 watt 12v 10BB (2 pcs at 200w each). it was a lightning deal for $259.99 so i snagged them. Right now it's $279.99 with a $20 coupon so the same as the lightning deal. $260/2=$130. I think that's where jaco22 got the $130. it's the 200w 2pack that will get you the $130 each panel.

I'm gonna use the JJN carboard box and stick the eco-flows and return them. Keep your boxes people. Don't throw them away like i did.

That's because the ecoworthy has only 10% bifacial gain. These are budget panels for an okay price. But free shipping is what makes it a great deal for those that only need a small number

OK. Thank you for the information! I was looking to 16BB N-Type, I think that is why it is $14.99 more.

Based on efficiency number, I guess 10BB is using PERC and 16BB is using TOPCON, though I couldn't find their product pdf anywhere

4x of these in the back that are partially shaded early and late day due to the flanking trees.
Upfront 4x of the 25% N panels also from Ecoworthy that cost more.

The two are almost neck and neck some days the cheaper bi-facial panels get more production despite the shade from the extra power from the reflected light.

Yesterday 3.52kWh from the Bifacial panels and 3.7kWh from the Type N panels the Type N panels were $120 on sale and $160ish at a lesser sale so for the money you cant go wrong, but if I was putting on my house or garage I would spend more for the blacked out N type panels since I would not expect any bi-facial reflected energy and love the aesthetics.

Just purchased a delta 2 to get into solar. Not planning to set this ontop of my roof but most likely on a shed and to power up a small appliance shed. Is this a good starting panel or should I hold off?

Bought the 2-axis tracker with 6 of these panels last Fall and set it up so I could claim the 30% tax credit in 2024, along with the promo price and cashback deal on my credit card. I used six Enphase microinverters (IQ7), rather then feed the output into a string inverter or charge controller. The nice thing about that is the Enphase micros track production and report to a web interface, so I can see how these are performing over the course of a day, week, month, etc. The tracker makes sure they are facing nearly the optimum direction to maximize production. The best I've seen is about 900W from the 1200W array, or only 75% of the expected output with the backs of the panels exposed for any additional output, since they are bifacial. I checked the input specs on the microinverters and found that these panels are marginal for MPPT: the maximum power voltage range of the panels is on the low side. I just replaced the six IQ7s with three IQ7HS, with pairs panels in series, putting the output well within the MPPT range for these inverters. Yesterday it was sunny, but hazy, and it maxed out at 838W. So maybe this setup will be slightly better when there's no haze, but overall it appears that these panels are not as good as they claim. The output of the panels is well below the max output of the inverters (240VA), so it's not clipping at the high end. Right now it's cold out, so the panels should be producing at their best.

These panels are fine for charging portable or backup power where you don't care about consistent, maximum production, but they seem to underperform overall, and the output voltage range is not suitable for use with microinverters. Unfortunately, the form facter required for the 2-axis tracker is such that it's difficult to find other panels to replace them (if I wanted to).
